How to unlock the Battle In Your Sleep achievement in DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE - Definitive Guide

Update 3/11/15: Early this morning, Wessmonster (Many thanks man!) and I tested out how to get auto-patrols to pop up, and we were both barraged by tons of result screens. Previously, Wessmonster had not received any, and I hadn't gotten any for around two weeks.

This may be a result of the patch the developers released on 3/10/15. I recorded myself getting multiple auto patrols around 3:00 a.m. Eastern using this method, which I have included below. I went into both single and multi lobby and did so several times.

If anyone starts getting auto patrols and the achievement, please let me know your experience and I'll update accordingly.

To sum it up, this achievement seems to be entirely random. I've tried to get it to work and it seems to have a mind of its own.

Update 2/25/15: The method is still the same, but I've found that auto-patrols pop up randomly. Sometimes you will get them, and other times you won't. The key is to quit and restart until you have all seven.

Update 2/26/15: It also turns out that you can get these while in single lobby, I got several that way.

1. Hit "Game Start."

2. Choose your character and pick "multi lobby."

3. Once there, collect the rewards.

4. Quit to the main menu.

Rinse and repeat as many times as it takes to get all seven.

I'm guessing someone has to recruit your character to their team and use you or something while your not playing, then you get rewards when you log in.

That is strange. I didn't get mine until a little bit into the game. TPB Maestro might be onto something, because I think I created a team with a friend before I got one. Wessmonster, if you find out what triggers it, let me know and I'll update the solution. Thanks.

Servers are always down for me, can never log in to multi lobby. Only have twice since the game was released. Never pops up in single lobby, and Im about level 70 and beat the campaign already.

I've been in multilobbies before, never seen this menu before... so can't say this is a solution

I am now level 80 with a second character at 40, have played with friends on a few occasions and still haven't gotten one of these. If someone else wants to do a PQ together and add each other as favorites, I will use them in missions 7 times if they do the same for me. We can see if that works.

I was actually about to post something down here about testing this achievement and seeing what makes it pop. Send me an invite if you're online and we'll give it a go.

Started a new character and went to the multi lobby then quit and entered into the single lobby did this nine times and got my achievement so this method should work also note that doing this on my level 65 never got me one of these.

I'm pretty sure you don't need to be a certain level or part of a team or anything really.

I'm only level 18 and I'm not part of anyone's team. I've played one battle and won it. I only have two people marked as favorites to get the gifting achievements. As long as it shows the results page it counts as an auto-patrol.

After trying for like 5 days, today I was able to log to multi and receive auto patrol. So I can confirm it's still doable but good luck on entering lobby.

Edit: Just earned it. Last 3 logging was without any errors.

Very simple achievement now that they updated the multiplayer lobbies. All you have to do is start up a multi-lobby and end game. Once at the main menu re-enter the multi-lobby and your auto-patrol statistics will pop up. Repeat 7 times and the achievement is yours. rock

As far as i can tell, Auto-Patrol will initiate at some point after playing in the multi lobby for a while, i'm not certain of any character/story/mission based requirements, i was 59, had beaten the story, and just been doing online missions, i ended the game, opened it up again and it gave me my results, i repeated this 6 more times and got the achievement, so best i can see it, play online once you can get the server to work for you, and just keep quitting and entering again!

I found that this only words for me once the game has already been started up in a multi-lobby, and then, from in game, I press start, end game, and re-log into a multi-lobby

Needed 2 auto patrols for the past month or so
Tried the method today and worked each time. Hope this helps

Auto-patrolling is an online single-player feature that allows you to interact with other players' characters as NPCs.

After you have played online with one of your characters for a while (single or multi), your character may appear in other players' online sessions as NPCs while you are offline. They can either appear in single lobbies to recruit in a team for battles and parallel quests, or appear in parallel quests as time patrollers in training.

The next time you log on to the server with that same character and other players have used/fought him/her, you will be briefed on what battles and parallel quests they have been in with/against other players and earn experience points, money and items from them.

You earn this achievement as soon as you log on with this character and they have participated in 7 patrols.

Auto patrols are conducted while you are logged out of the game, however you can very easily get all 7 auto patrols by ending game, logging back in and collecting an auto patrol, then logging out again. Repeat that process up to 7 times for this achievement to unlock.

This trophy has become much easier to obtain with update Version 1.02, which improved online functionality greatly. As for this trophy, you need to have completed 7 Auto-Patrols. Now an Auto-Patrol is when your character is playing while you're offline. Confused? Yes, well to make it much simpler these Auto-Patrols are the people you fight while farming the Dragon Balls or while playing 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3 online but have a CPU fill in the missing player. These characters are all Auto-Patrols and while you're not playing game, you're character's data is received by another player and they have fought against you or you were their CPU fill-in player. Another way is by real life players adding you to their favorites then making a team with your character along in it.

With that information out of the way, you'll be glad to know that you can farm this trophy easily now just by playing the game online. You can do anything such as random PQs, fighting other players online, or making teams yourself and playing with those party members. Once you've done so, all you need to do is simply "End the game" and return back to the main game menu, then re-log back into the lobby. You'll get an Auto-Patrol message like this:

Keep backing out and logging back in the lobby until you stop getting these messages or unlocked the trophy. If you don't get a message, you need to fight online, or do some PQs either offline or online. It doesn't really matter which you do to be honest.

To do this, be sure to log into the network at least once. Auto-patrol is when someone hires your character to complete a mission. This happens when you are not in the game. The result of completing the auto-patrol is shown when entering the game. Seven such hires - and you're done.
