You unlocked Hercule, Vindel, and Uub in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3

Hercule is unlocked in Piccolo's Dragon Universe. After the event at Central City search the desert south of Kami's lookout near Baba's before fighting Buu. Once you find Hercule you will then want to talk to Videl in central city, which will unlock Hercule. (See video #2 @2:40)

Vindel can be unlocked in Gohan's Dragon Universe. Before your battle with Dabura, search fields east of Goku's house for one event with Videl, then search the island chain in the lower right portion of the map. You should find a spot that will initiate a second conversation with Videl about how she's being trained, and afterwards, she will be unlocked.

Uub is one of the more exclusive characters to unlock. To unlock him you must defeat Kid Buu in Goku's Dragon Universe wih Super Spirit Bomb Ultimate. For that to happen you must have Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and Spirit Bomb equipped in Goku's ability tray while fighting Kid Buu.

There are a few requirements in this regard:

* Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and Spirit Bomb equipped in Goku's ability tray.
* You can't use the Super Spirit Bomb while transformed into a Super Saiyan. Goku's ultimate attack is different if you are Super Saiyan. The attack must be performed while Goku is at his normal state or in Kaioken.
* You must win the power struggle during the Super Spirit Bomb animation.

If you fulfill all of these requirements, the story will continue, and you will have a red dot on the map at the World Martial Arts Tournament. Go there, and you will fight against Uub. Defeat him, and he is unlocked in all modes, including Dragon Universe. (See video #1)

I unlocked Hercule by searching the desert and THEN going to central city, there was no event in the city beforehand, just letting you know =]

Just thought I should add: For Hercule, the video says it's on Piccolo's second DU and that's false. I unlocked him on my first DU with Piccolo.

I as well am having trouble with the power struggle, don't know why the person who created this guide can't tell us what buttons we are supposed to mash to complete it seeing as it is not random...

It's best to do the videl events before you do anything else in Gohan's DU. I sparred with Goten first and I didn't get the same Videl events.

Just wanted to add that you do not actually need to beat Buu with the Super Bomb but simply use it against him. I used it and finished the fight with a simple combo and still got the fight against Uub and unlocked him.

Hercule - Play Piccolo's story a 2nd time and before facing Buu go to the desert to trigger a scene with Hercule.

Afterwards, head towards Central City located on the main continent to trigger a scene with Videl and unlocking Hercule.

Videl - Play Gohan's story a 2nd time and go east a bit from Goku's house to trigger a scene in the plains with Videl, then proceed to the islands in the south-eastern part of the map to trigger another scene with Yajirobe and Videl. Note: You can do this before or after the Goten Fight.

Uub - You'll need to hit Kid Buu with Spirit Bomb with Goku and win the clash in which Goku will turn Super Saiyan meaning that you did it right. Be sure to at least have the following equipped: Spirit Bomb, Super Saiyan and Kaioken. Note: Do NOT go Super Saiyan because your Ultimate changes. Afterwards you will get a extended arc that is the 14th battle against Uub.

Important: Before the fight you should head towards the furthest island South East and pick up the SSJ4 Capsule for Goku if you wish to get all the Budokai 3 Fierce Warriors trophy in one run in Goku's 2nd playthrough.

After that just head towards the World Tournament to the West and beat Uub.

Hercule: During Piccolo's second playthrough, just before your final fight with Buu, go to the desert to trigger a scene with Hercule.

After this conversation, go to Central City to unlock Hercule.

Videl: During Gohan's DU, search the lower right fields. (Near the World Tournament).

Uub: During Goku's second playthrough of DU, finish Kid Buu with a Spirit Bomb while in Normal State. If you did it correctly, the story will continue and you'll unlock Uub.
