How to unlock the Tough Enough achievement in DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT - Definitive Guide

I believe that this achievement requires that the story be completed (feel free to comment if not). It requires you to upgrade the training room to level 10 and complete a level 10 training with any character.

Zeni: Head to a shop and sell any items which say that they are valuable and are just for selling. If you have finished fighting Mira and have cooked 5 full meals, then sell all of your cooking ingredients as well. I also recommend that you wish for Zeni when you use the Dragon Balls. Note that the amount of Zeni changes depending on how far you are in the story. After the story, you get 100,000 Zeni for "I want to be rich!". If you wait till after the story to Summon Shenron 10 times for another achievement, you will end up with 1,000,000 Zeni.
Any Machine Parts: West City --- Fly around the Capsule Corporation on the ground. There are stacks of boxes around the buildings that each have a Machine Part loot spot, as well as next to the Material Shop (Wrench Shop) across the street. After getting all of the loot, enter and then exit Capsule Corporation and repeat. I'm 99% sure you can find any Machine Part here.
Refined Gold: Sacred Land of Korin --- Follow the path southeast from Korin's Tower to a cave. Break the rocks and save / reload until you get 4 Refined Gold.
Black / White Meteorite: Bought from Material Shops (Wrench Shops) in Satan City / Gingertown / Lucca Village after the story.

Total: Zeni x 500,000 --- D Medal x 150
Refined Iron x 2 --- Refined Silver x 3 --- Refined Gold x 4
White Meteorite x 4 --- Black Meteorite x 4

You only need one of each material for each Lvl (except Lvl 10).
Lvl 2: Zeni x 4,500 --- D Medal x 5 --- Sturdy Bolt S --- Refined Iron
Lvl 3: Zeni x 15,500 --- D Medal x 10 --- Gear Bearing S --- Steel Nut S --- Refined Iron
lvl 4: Zeni x 25,000 --- D Medal x 10 --- Sturdy Bolt L --- Sturdy Bolt Z --- Refined Silver
Lvl 5: Zeni x 35,000 --- D Medal x 15 --- Gear Bearing L --- Gear Bearing Z --- Refined Silver
lvl 6: Zeni x 55,000 --- D Medal x 15 --- Steel Nut L --- Steel Nut Z --- Refined Silver
Lvl 7: Zeni x 65,000 --- D Medal x 20 --- White Meteorite --- Refined Gold
Lvl 8: Zeni x 80,000 --- D Medal x 20 --- Black Meteorite --- Refined Gold
Lvl 9: Zeni x 95,000 --- D Medal x 25 --- White Meteorite --- Black Meteorite --- Refined Gold
Lvl 10: Zeni x 125,000 --- D Medal x 30 --- White Meteorite x 2 --- Black Meteorite x 2 --- Refined Gold

Lvl 10 Fight: You are up against 3 level 95 enemies. I personally chose to cheese the fight as Vegeta. Transform to Super Saiyan 2, spam Super Big Bang Attack (or whichever version you have) for ~700k damage (Vegeta Lvl 76) to any enemies in quite a large radius. The enemies can be really annoying, so bring some healing. Since you've spent 500,000 Zeni on building the room, you should be able to get some Healades or Senzu Beans.

The last room takes two of each meteorite instead of one. I bought 3 of each and didn't have enough for the last room. You actually need 4

Everytime I complete the Level 2 training with ANY character, the game freezes during the following conversation with the Female Researcher. Anyone else run into this issue?

You can use 2 other characters as wel, might make is a lil easier. Got it done with vegeta lvl 79 and as support Goku lvl 82 and Gohan 87.
Can confirm it works, just got the cheevo.

I thought this was never going to work, my Gohan is almost 10 levels higher than Vegeta and he was getting wrecked, but I tried it. First attempt I could even launch the attack I got hammered so quick. Second attempt I needed two senzu beans but got it without too much trouble. Hardest part was finding a second to refill your energy and getting attacks in to fill that bar, thank you.

I saved this achievement for last and had no problem coming up with the necessary materials and zeni. Unfortunately though, after modifying up to Training Room Level 5, I barely had any D-Medals left! Apparently, I had spent most of them learning new moves from the training grounds which meant I couldn't modify the remaining Training Missions needed to unlock the Level 10 Challenge. Since this solution shows how to get everything except D-medals, I figured I'd chime in. If you ever need D Medals, the best way to get them is by:

- Checking the Z Encyclopedia occasionally
- Speaking to Master Roshi (Turtle School Training Manual)
- Completing Sub Stories
- Using the Time Machine at Capsule Corp to replay Sub Stories you missed
- Obtaining rewards in the Orange City Home Run Mini Game

To get the remaining D Medals I needed, what I actually ended up doing was flying around all the field areas and holding cn_LB for the "Ki Search" sense ability to spot D Medals hidden throughout each region. While on the world map, the game tells you at the bottom left of the screen how many medals you have out of the ones available in that area. After visiting various areas and using Ki Search to pick them up, I was able to scavenge the medals I needed in about an hour. When flying around using Ki Search, D Medals will appear as glowing orbs (changing color) and are usually hidden slightly out of plain sight. You can even find videos of their locations on Youtube, but I found it to be less monotonous when searching on my own. I think flying around and picking up D Medals around each area may be the next best method if you've already checked your encyclopedia and recently completed some of Roshi's Turtle School Training exercises.

Simple enough, level up the training room in capsule Corp to level 10. After Buu saga all materials needed can be bought outside capsule Corp at the shop across the street. After that do a level 10 challenge and the trophy will pop

The training room is a feature that will be available during the Cell saga. Like the training grounds, you will fight strong enemies, this time to obtain Mastery Skills.

To reach Level 10 on training room, you need first to upgrade the room by using Zenis and materials. The upgrades can require a bit of material farming, while for Zenis, you can sell anything you don't need.

The training room is completely separate from the training grounds - you can find this at Capsule Corp during the third arc (Cell Saga). To get this achievement, you must complete the Level 10 challenge only, no need to complete any of the others prior to it. To have access to the Level 10 challenge though you'll first need to upgrade the room to Level 10. Speak to the researcher across the room from Bulma to improve it. These are the required materials for each upgrade (thanks to Low Faith on TA for putting this list together):

  • 2: Zeni x 4,500 --- D Medal x 5 --- Sturdy Bolt S --- Refined Iron
  • 3: Zeni x 15,500 --- D Medal x 10 --- Gear Bearing S --- Steel Nut S --- Refined Iron
  • 4: Zeni x 25,000 --- D Medal x 10 --- Sturdy Bolt L --- Sturdy Bolt Z --- Refined Silver
  • 5: Zeni x 35,000 --- D Medal x 15 --- Gear Bearing L --- Gear Bearing Z --- Refined Silver
  • 6: Zeni x 55,000 --- D Medal x 15 --- Steel Nut L --- Steel Nut Z --- Refined Silver
  • 7: Zeni x 65,000 --- D Medal x 20 --- White Meteorite --- Refined Gold
  • 8: Zeni x 80,000 --- D Medal x 20 --- Black Meteorite --- Refined Gold
  • 9: Zeni x 95,000 --- D Medal x 25 --- White Meteorite --- Black Meteorite --- Refined Gold
  • 10: Zeni x 125,000 --- D Medal x 30 --- White Meteorite x 2 --- Black Meteorite x 2 --- Refined Gold
The trick now is where to get all these materials. Zeni is pretty obvious, simply sell anything you don't need or collect the Dragon Balls and wish for money. D Medals are no problem, you'll get well over 100 just from the Z Encyclopedia and Turtle School training challenges. Bolts/Bearings/Nuts can be found by looting spots around Capsule Corp. Refined Iron and Silver can be obtained from minerals in Gizard Wasteland, and Refined Gold you'll find at the Sacred Land of Korin in a cave SE from Korin's Tower. Both meteorites can be purchased from the merchant in Satan City late in the game.

Simply head to 'Capsule Corporation' on the world map and then speak to the 'Female Researcher' and make sure your Training Room has been modified to the 10th level. Complete it to unlock the trophy.

I created this video to help:

Hope this helps.

The biggest problem is finding all the materials to upgrade the training room. The last three levels require black and white meteorite fragments, which, if not accumulated during the passage, can be purchased from the materials merchant in Satan City. The Level 10 Challenge features three different versions of Level 95 Buu as opponents, and you'll have to fight them without any support characters to distract you, so make sure to level up well and stock up on Senzu Beans.

To modify the training rooms, you will still need rare bearings. They can be found in the area of the Eastern Gorge - Olive Village, when you move there, you will go straight (slightly to the right) to the stone bridge, you will see it right away, there are old cars on it, we break them and get the items. The procedure can be repeated. And if you suddenly need purified gold, there is plenty of it underwater in the sea in crystals or in caves.
