How to unlock the Who Needs a Phone? achievement in DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT - Definitive Guide

After finishing the Saiyan Saga, King Kai will randomly contact you when not in missions. Generally he comments on things that your doing, like collecting a lot of orbs, hunting a lot of animals, or mining a lot of ore. This seems mostly random but isn't rare enough that will make this achievement a problem. Will just come through normal play.

I don't remember getting any on namek myself, most if not all of mine came when I was in the intermissions or in the early parts of the Cell saga when the story wasn't urgent

Know of a way to see how many times King Kai has msged already? I’ve been doing side missions & random exploring for days and king Kai is msging constantly...still no achievement.

Wish i could check my progress ive beaten the game and this is basically all i have left to do. Pretty boring just flying around collecting orbs and minerals.

Hey guys no need to worry. Just fly around the different worlds and collect minerals aka the blue crystals around the map and inside the cave. I got a message from king kai every 7-10 crystal collects. Happy hunting.

If this isn't unlocking for people I think it's because they only count if your playing as Goku they kept popping up while I was playing as Gohan and Vegeta but I didn't get the first achievement until I was playing as Goku after beating Frieza

For some reason King Kai stopped messaging me around the start of the Frieza saga does anyone know if this is normal?

edit: I can confirm you won't get messages during the Frieza saga

After the Saiyan Saga and whenever you are not on Namak, you will get messages from King Kai randomly from doing activities such as hunting, collecting food, collecting orbs, and mining minerals. An easy way to get this done quickly is go to any mineral deposit, preferably one with a lot of minerals and follow these steps.

1. Save your game
2. Destroy all minerals
3. If King Kai did not send you a message, or he sent one, but it was not enough for the achievement, save your game
4. Load the save you just saved in, the minerals will respawn

Repeat this process until the achievement pops. It helps a lot to be a deposit with a lot of minerals because you have a higher chance of him sending you a message.

After the battle with the saiyan, you will occasionally receive telepathic messages from King Kai. This trophy is a bit random, as you don't have any counter nor explicit requirements for telepathic messages, but it will come naturally when playing the game and getting items during free roam.

Telepatic messages will occur every time you get a not fixed amount of items: Z orbs, medals, fruits, minerals... Just collect as many items as possible and wait until King Kai will contact you with some jokes 20 times.

After the Saiyan Saga is complete, King Kai will randomly send you messages to comment on what you're doing - usually on menial taks such as picking up Z Orbs, hunting animals, or collecting minerals. You can quickly grind this out by saving in front of a cave with a bunch of minerals, collecting them all and hoping for a message. Save outside the cave, reload immediately to respawn the minerals, and repeat the process. He will continually send you messages every for every 10-12 you collect, so it'll take some time.

This is done by collecting items in the game (crystals, orbs etc...). After several collection you will receive messages from King Kai.
Nothing difficult, just collect items as you play the games and this will get done easily.

The Kai King periodically contacts you, commenting on activities such as fishing, hunting, collecting ingredients, materials and orbs, so just save up resources.
