How to unlock the Building Boffin achievement in DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS 2 - Definitive Guide

This is probably the most boring achievement of them all.

You don't only need to discover the recipes, you also need to craft them once.
When openning the Builderpedia, and checking recipes, you'll find what percentage you're currently at.

This is not a how to, because the achievement is pretty straight forward but some tips :

In your builderpedia, when you go to recipes, you've got three icons at the bottom. You want to clic the hammer. It depicts every single recipe you've not crafted.
You'll find this icon on the big crafting tables (those cut in 3 sections for each island) so you don't have to remember what you've crafted or not.

Cooking recipes are also counting so remember to do them :

And some of them avec a counterpart as a decorative recipe you unlock.

Good luck, happy grinding !

I'll probably just save and grind it out real quick, then reload my save so I won't have to deal with all the junk laying around. lol

You can also go through your inventory and delete the things you don't actually want. Helps if you don't want to reload the save, but also don't want a lot of junk lying around. That, or build and fill a crapton of chests.

Unfortunately it's a pain to remove the junk from your inventory. Menus are a pain in this game.

Worth noting that items crafted at the tree stump also count towards the percentage. Most of those can't be made at the builders workbench

I held off on this until I had completed the story, all of the tablet objectives that I felt like doing, and had built out Awakening to the extent I wanted. At that point I had all the infinite resources unlocked and It took about 8 minutes of non-stop crafting to move from 54% to 65%. I didn't use any gratitude points or gather extra materials; I got there with just the recipes that were already available. Once it popped, I reverted to my previous save to avoid junking up my inventory.

Thanks, I was wondering why i was stuck at 45% despite unlocking many new recipes. Had to build those things... went from 45% to 65% in a few minutes... Now i have a ''cemetary'' full of unwanted stuff near my pyramid :)

To help people struggling with this achievement as it can be VERY time-consuming, the best way I found to get this quickly is to have the maximum number of people that you can have on the Isle of Awakening (You can have up to 60 total residents split however you want across the three areas) but have them all located in one area. I had all my residents in The Green Gardens as that is where most of my gratitude was coming from and I had several farms built with different crops so plenty of food.

Once all your residents are placed in one area, build as many new rooms as you can. Your residents give gratitude for each new room built as well as any time spent in that room. This will net you a fair amount of gratitude points quite quickly. If you have rooms such as bathrooms, kitchens, bars, sleeping quarters and other places that will keep residents happy, as well the people with the necessary skilled residents (bartender, cook, etc.) then your residents will take care of themselves.

You will find that residents drop gratitude points after activities such as bathing, going to the toilet, eating, sleeping, farming and drinking and with 60 residents in the area, even if they only drop 1 gratitude point each, that's 60 points for one activity, and they do plenty of activities throughout the day, and some can even drop more than 1 point at a time.

Every so often you can ring the bell to gather the points so that you can chip away at building what you need or just leave the game running for a short while and you can come back to a nice amount of points. I left my game for about 15 minutes and came back to nearly 1000 gratitude points. This can work great for the Explorer's Shores achievement as well.

Hope this helps people with this smile

This trophy description is actually quite misleading. It's not for discovering the recipes, but actually building them. You'll need to go to a builders table and select the hammer icon - this shows you all the recipes that you haven't yet built. Simply build all the items you can (you'll likely need to delete these from your bag as you run out of space). The trophy will also only unlock once you check your completed percentage in the Builderpedia. One you hit 65% or more, and see this percentage, then the trophy will unlock.

I suggest leaving this to the end of the game.

Not for finding. For crafting 65% of recipes. For a long time I couldn’t figure out how to open recipes after 60% in Builderpedia. Then I noticed the inscription “Reciepes crafted 60%” and realized that I had to craft it, and not just open it.
In addition, to get the trophy you will need to go to Builderpedia and check the percentages. Only then will the trophy ring.
