How to unlock the Explorer Extraordinaire achievement in DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS 2 - Definitive Guide
After progressing into the storyline and gaining the ability to travel between islands on your ship you will start to unlock the first of the games islands that you can visit. Ultimately they won't all become available until towards the end of the game.
There are a total of 16 islands in the game;
- 3 storyline islands
- 9 Explorer Shores
- The Isle of Awakening
- Buildertopia (the "free mode" and endgame island).
- 2 Miscelannious islands with no real use except for resources.
The islands that we need to visit are the "Explorer Shores" islands which are locked from traveling to until they are purchased with hearts/gratitude. The list below details the 9 islands as well as the cost required to unlock each.
it's safe to say you will likely have this achievement waiting towards the end of the game as it will require a lot of saving to amass the required amount. Enjoy the game and keep recruiting more people to increase your intake. Once you've purchased/unlocked all the explorer shores the achievement should pop.
Soggy Skerry - 50 GP
Blossom Bay - 300 GP
Iridescent Island - 100 GP
Sunny Sands - 500 GP
Rimey Reef - 200 GP
Laguna Perfuma - 1,000 GP
Coral Cay - 1,500 GP
Defiled Isle - 3,000 GP
Unholy Holm - 3,000 GP
Note:
This achievement may not unlock as soon as the last island is unlocked, mine didn't pop until about 20 minutes after.

Good solution. Might mention when the islands are available to unlock; first 2 are available after Furrowfield, next 2 are available after Khrumbul-Dun, next 2 are available after Moonbrooke, and the last 3 are available after beating the game and
Lots of folks are reporting serious save glitches postgame, so I made a point to have the 7500 gratitude needed for the last 3 before beating the game. I unlocked all 3 as soon as they were available, and the achievement popped right away, before I had visited any of them.

You should unlock a lot of these during play, but the last two unlocked after the story require 3000 gratitude on the Isle of Awakening each. See Beloved Builder for more details on farming gratitude.
