Hey there guys so for this achievement you need to equip a cursed item, apparently there are 3 in the game but I personally only know of 1 which is the "Sword of Ruin" if you know others please comment below.

this one can be located on the "Defiled Isle" which costs 3,000 gratitude to unlock (i know it's a bit of a grind) and is a late game explorers shores. Once there you need to locate the cyclops super-strong monster, by this point in the game you should have weapons and armor for the task (not to mention 3 allies and a super-duper cool flag).

Once you kill him you will have the recipe for the sword! Make it and equip it!

But oh no! You can't unequip it, that's ok though, you can craft a potion for 1 silver and 1 medicinal leaf and there you go! Or keep it equiped to get the 3-star falcon sword, a quide for that is here: https://www.gamerevolution.com/guides/566845-dragon-quest-bu...

There are three pieces of cursed equipment in the game, and equipping any ONE of them will unlock this achievement. All three items are only available after beating the game.

Since many people have encountered game-breaking save issues during postgame, this guide will give you all the info you need to acquire these items as quickly as possible. I recommend choosing the Sword of Ruin since, with some planning, you only need to visit one Explorer's Shore postgame to get what you need to make it. You can also use the Sword of Ruin to create the 3-star Falcon Blade -- the best weapon in the game -- which I'll cover at the end of this guide.

CURSED WEAPON: SWORD OF RUIN
========================
Recipe
Defeat the Boss Troll super-strong monster at Defiled Isle.
• Defiled Isle can be unlocked postgame for 3000 gratitude points.
• The Boss Troll is typically found near a ruined campsite and a large poison lake.

Crafting
The following items are required to craft the Sword of Ruin:
• 2x Orichalcum
• 1x Silvery Sludge
• 1x Humongous Horn
• 1x Terrible Talon

You should be able to bank everything except Orichalcum before beating the game. Silvery Sludge is dropped by Metal Slimes (Khrumbul-Dun mines), and Humongous Horns and Terrible Talons are prevalent in Malhalla -- just make sure to take them with you before going to the floating castle. If you are missing horns or talons, they are also available at Unholy Holm postgame.

Orichalcum is found postgame at Defiled Isle, so you should make sure to pick up two while you are getting the Sword of Ruin recipe. Orichalcum is found in small rock formations at the bottom of the larger poison lakes. You'll need to scoop out the poison with your Bottomless pot to find them, then bash them with your hammer.

CURSED ARMOR -- WAILER'S MAIL
=======================
Recipe
Defeat the Stone Guardian super-strong monster at Unholy Holm.
• Unholy Holm can be unlocked postgame for 3000 gratitude points.
• The Stone Guardian will randomly spawn in the lowlands. Unholy Holm is a large island, so lots to search!

Crafting
The following items are required to craft the Sword of Ruin:
• 2x Orichalcum
• 1x Silvery Sludge
• 1x Supersized Skull
• 3x Bones
• 1x Fur

You should be able to bank everything except Orichalcum and the Supersized Skull before beating the game. Silvery Sludge is dropped by Metal Slimes (Khrumbul-Dun mines), Bones are dropped by Deadnaughts (Furrowfield), and Fur is dropped by Ratscals (Isle of Awakening hilly areas). You should aim to have at least 8x Bones to craft a Supersized Skull, as well as 5x Wood, which you can get from chopping down trees in Isle of Awakening if you don't already have unlimited wood.

Orichalcum is found postgame at Defiled Isle. They are found in small rock formations at the bottom of the larger poison lakes. You'll need to scoop out the poison with your Bottomless pot to find them, then bash them with your hammer.

Supersized Skulls are also available postgame. You first need to unlock the Tree Stump crafting station (50 gratitude), then craft it with 5x Wood. The Tree Stump has a number of unique recipes, including the Supersized Skull. Unlock it for 50 more gratitude, then craft it with 5x Bones.

CURSED SHIELD -- THANATOS' SHIELD
=========================
Recipe
Defeat the Merking super-strong monster at Coral Cay.
• Coral Cay can be unlocked postgame for 1500 gratitude points.
• The Merking is typically in the bottom of one of the deep trenches.

Crafting
The following items are required to craft Thanatos' Shield:
• 1x Orichalcum
• 1x Silvery Sludge
• 1x Bones
• 2x Huge Horn

You should be able to bank everything except Orichalcum before beating the game. Silvery Sludge is dropped by Metal Slimes (Khrumbul-Dun mines), Bones are dropped by Deadnaughts (Furrowfield), and Huge Horns are prevalent in Malhalla -- just make sure to take them with you before going to the floating castle. If you are missing horns, they are also available at Unholy Holm postgame.

REMOVING CURSED EQUIPMENT
======================
Cursed equipment is a fixture in Dragon Quest games, and typically has very high stats, but also some negative effect that makes the item less appealing. Once equipped, cursed equipment cannot be unequipped without some special effort.

There are three approaches you can take with cursed equipment for this achievement:
(1) If you only care about the achievement, simply save before equipping the cursed item. Once the achievement unlocks, reload your save.
(2) Once you equip a cursed item, the recipe for Sheen Salts will be available, which can be unlocked for 100 gratitude points. You can craft Sheen Salts with 1x Medicinal Herb and 1x Silver. Using the Sheen Salts will unequip the cursed item, and return it to your inventory.
(3) For Sword of Ruin only, you can transform the cursed weapon into the 3-star Falcon Blade. To do this, you will need a 1-star Falcon Blade (recipe learned from Hunter Mech super-strong monster at Rimey Reef, requires 3x Steel Ingot, 1x Silvery Sludge, and 1x Gold Ingot to craft). With the Sword of Ruin equipped, go to a Dressing Table to change your appearance, and change the weapon in your appearance to the 1-star Falcon Blade. The Sword of Ruin will transform into a 3-star Falcon Blade, which can be freely equipped / unequipped. As a result, the Sword of Ruin will no longer be in your inventory.
