DRAGON QUEST XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition

I had to use several different sources to find a strategy on how to beat Dora-in-Grey. This guide wasn't helpful.

To beat the boss, I used Hero/Serena/Slyvando/Erik. Started with Serena using Snap, Crackle, Poof on herself, then Sylvando, then Erik in that order, refreshing when it wore out. Sylando's Hustle Dance heals the team. Just used Hero for healing and offense when health was good. Erik was the powerhouse---did 85% of the damage with Boulderbringer and poison. Serena and Slyvando supported the team with the abilities I mentioned.

A bit of luck is involved---the boss can turn off a party member's abilities before you get a chance to act and you'll need Snap, Crackle, Poof and Hustle Dance. I had to quit and retry several times to get a scenario where I could start off on a good foot.
