How to unlock the Harpy Joyride achievement in Dragon's Dogma 2 - Definitive Guide
In order to get this you will need the item "Harpysnare smoke beacon" which are unfortunately more rare than they should be.
I have seen some of the roaming vendors sell them but they are of course random. There is one location not far from Bakbattahl where there is always one in a chest. (Shown in video)
Once you have one place it near some harpies and the harpy will be attracted to it and you can walk up to it and grab and hold to fly away with it.
You might want to dismiss your support pawns in case they attack it.

To Hurp: Did you not choose "continue from last save"? Every single time I died I respawned right before the encounter I was killed in or on the ledge I fall off - the game saves every 30 seconds or something like that ...

Just want to mention that it's a good idea to save before doing this or the Griffon achievement. Both creatures can get high in the sky rather fast and you might be playing a jungle kitty but you won't necessarily land on your feet.
I actually rode a Griffon over some water and into the wilderness and was so lucky I happened to lose stamina right as I was over a cliff. Landed fine, just a little on edge
The Harpy on the other hand keeps faking out where she was going to go and I eventually shattered my ankles along with my HP bar. My last save was about 30 minutes before coming up on the Harpy nest where I remembered to summon them. So that was lame.
So I'm just recommending people save first, or at the very least don't summon the Harpies from the top of an aquaduct because youll run out of landing space very quickly.

There is an item in the game called the Harpysnare Smoke Beacon. This can be found in the world and is also sold by some vendors (you also get three with the deluxe edition).
Once you have one, simply use the item. Harpies will be called to your location. Jump at one of them and then grab onto them (grab is RT on Xbox). You should then be able to ride on the harpy like a hanglider a short distance.
You can use this to cross gaps or reach heights you wouldn't otherwise be able to. That said, you don't need to do that for the achievement. Just summon by using the item, grab on and the achievement should unlock.
