How to unlock the The Coin Collector achievement in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen - Definitive Guide

It is not needful to have 10 million gold in one's possession, simply to receive this achievement. One needs only to earn that much coin (even if one has spent nearly all of it).

I do not know if it must be earned in a single play-through, or not. It surprised me by appearing shortly before I completed my first play-through (I was deliberately pursuing both the "hero" and the exploration achievements, so I had nearly reached level 100 by the time I'd finished my first run).

========

A few tips, which may be helpful toward earning it sooner instead of later:

Take a lesson from pawn behavior, and learn what can be smashed to discover hidden treasures.

Watch for coin bags, which come in assorted sizes such as: small, large & giant. There is also a "coin pouch" without a size included in its name.

Take message board quests which award coin.

Humanoid opponents (goblins, thieves, etc) may drop coin pouches, or small coin pouches, when defeated. This includes humanoid undead.

In hard mode, nearly every enemy drops some size of coin pouch. Enemies that can lose parts, such as saurians with their tails, may drop more than one coin pouch.

Some curative and tool items offer a "prosperity" boon, which causes more coin drops (it may convert other drops into coin).

Sell all duplicate weapons / armor pieces regularly, along with rotting time-sensitive items. However, you may wish to keep things like sour ambrosial meat (preserve that in an air-tight container, either as a stamina curative or else to have it available for quests requiring it).

Learn which areas have assorted coin bags lying about. Two such places are the top of the Blue Moon Tower, and the "water slide" area of Soulflayer canyon. Those bags will respawn after a few "game" days pass. So revisit those locations periodically, and collect all those coins.

If one continues playing long enough, this achievement is likely to happen without much effort put into it.

Happy gaming! wave

This will come along the way toward the rest of your achievements. You earn more gold from enemies on Hard mode, so you'll see large bags of gold worth 10k each drop from many enemies (even normal goblins and wolves). You'll also get a lot of money from quests and notice board missions. Once you have a few million and begin to work on the 350 pieces of equipment, you'll get the rest of the way by selling all those items to purchase more. This is cumulative, so you don't need 10m on hand to unlock it.
