this will be the first trophy you get in the dlc. its not missable. the first boat you come to simply talk to her and she will show you a net that needs to be filled with fish.
simply fill it with 8 of the basic 2x1 grid fish. and youll get this.

After arriving at The Pale Reach, you will discover much of the ice is impenetrable. The Traveling Merchant will tell you about an Ice Breaker that you will need to collect in three pieces and reassemble for your boat, but even that is nowhere to be found in the limited areas you can safely travel through at the beginning of you time in this new area.
If you head down the one winding path you can traverse, into a deeper area of the ice, you will find The Photographer. If you haven't played Dredge since Update 2 (added to the game in July of 2023), you may not be familiar with the NPC who came with the addition of Photo Mode. Whether you have played the game with her previously or not will not have any bearing on your task.
The Photographer will ask you to load fish on to the nearby ice sheet, so fill every square in the 4X4 plot with any fish you have in your cargo without leaving any open spaces. This would be a great time to catch a few of the 11 fish varieities you will need for Polar Angler
, so cast out your rods throughout the area and use the new Brittle Trawl Net and you should be able to fill the plot in no time.
Once the plot is full of fish, The Photographer will make you wait until nightfall and the Narwhal will break through the ice barrier and eat all the bait. This will accomplish four things:

- The path will now be open for you to travel further into the center of The Pale Reach, where you can begin locating your Ice Breaker pieces and begin the Under The Ice main area Pursuit
- Once you feed the Narwhal, it will leave you alone for the night as you travel through it's watery home, so explore as much as you can before the nightly panic starts to set in (or switch to Passive Mode for an easier time overall)
- Feeding the beast completes your first of five Pursuits, The Narwhal
- Feeding the Narwhal will also get you this trophy!
Whether you continue to explore throughout the night, or return to the feeding site during the daylight, make sure to venture deeper into the area so you can locate the Central Camp dock where you finally gain access to a hand drawn map of The Pale Reach and meet one of the four frozen crew you will need to free for the main objective (See Under The Ice ). Once you begin the Under the Ice Pursuit, find the other two ice walls located in the East and West dock areas, so you can feed the Narwhal and open up the remaining areas to assemble the Ice Breaker.
