This applies to all researcher achievements. When you visit pontoons, sometimes the merchant will be selling a research part in the shipyard misc section. I've found the best way to obtain them is to buy the single one they are selling, use it immediately, and then sleep. Within 2 in-game days, they will have restocked the single part. Rinse and repeat to grind out buying them all. Note that they are about $350 each so make sure you've saved up plenty of money.

It took me more like 7-8 in-game days of sleeping to get it to restock, so if its not working in 2 days for you than just keep sleeping and it will eventually show up.

Hi there,
It takes 2 ingame days without looking in the shop for it to respawn. For some reason the timer resets when you look into the shop menu, so just wait till dawn twice without looking and it should be there. Hope this helps!

I found a reliable way to get all research parts to complete this achievement, here is what i did:
!!!!(By this point i had unlocked the bait and explosives)!!!!
- Go to the merchant (any outside of Great Marrow)
- Buy explosives and the two baits she sells.
- Sleep until next day.
- Check if she sells research part. If not, sell back explosives and bait.
- Sleep until morning.
- Check if she sells research part. If not, buy explosives and bait. (By this point the research part should show)
- Sleep.
By now there should be one research part available to buy.
Just repeat the steps of buying, sleeping, selling back and sleeping until you see it.
I got her to reliably have a research part for sail following the steps above, and i bought the last 9 research parts i needed.
Hope it helps.
