How to unlock the Master Angler achievement in DREDGE - Definitive Guide
This does not include the aberrations, just the overall species of fish.
Just use the encyclopedia to see which fish you're missing. It will also tell you where to find them and what kind of fishing gear you need/what style of fishing you need to use (rod, trawling, or crab trap.
Most of the fish will be self explanatory to find, but there are 4 exotic fish that are one of a kind. Each main island chain has one except for the starting islands, The Marrows, in the middle.
-The fish in the Gales is in P-3/O-3 hidden behind the waterfall.
-The fish in the Stellar Basin is in F-4 of the the main basin area after you repel the leviathan.
-The fish in the Twisted Strand is located in E-12 behind a wall that needs to be destroyed with explosives
-The Fish in the Devils Spine is in Q-12 behind another explodable wall.
The worst normal fish to find for me were the Open Ocean fish. They aren't located around any specific island and are in the waters between. They felt rarer than every other type of fish but most were no problem. The last fish I had to find and the one that gave me the most trouble was the Moonfish, which is open ocean and can only be found at night. I eventually found one around K-12 at night. If you're really struggling, just bring a bunch of bait to that area and you should find one decently fast.

FYI I've caught every fish from numbers 1-73 inclusive (so every fish from the 6 areas plus all the exotic fish) but not unlocked this yet, so I suspect it does actually include the Abberations... unless it's not unlocked for me for some reason.
EDIT: Ignore the above, just took about 5 minutes to unlock!

There are 151 different varieties of underwater fauna you will need to find throughout the game in order to fill your Encyclopedia. 67 of those creatures are the known species of fish you will need for this trophy. The other 84 are Aberrations of the species.
There are seven different rod types and the type of rod usually will coincide with the environment (Shallow for skimpier pools of water, Oceanic for large catches in the open ocean, Abyssal and Hadal rods for truly deep fishing, Mangrove for the murky swamps of Twisted Strand, Volcanic for the steamy Devil's Spine) Not all of these rods will be available through research and purchase alone, so if you are stuck on the ability to snag a type, make sure you are talking to NPCs and fulfilling the Pursuits you are given.
You will need to find 67 varities throughout the five regions and the open waters in between them. Below is a list of species by region and rod type, as well as if the species is only found at night/day or will only be caught through a Crab Pot or by Trawl Net:

The encyclopedia describes everything quite clearly for each type of fish. I closed sequentially by location tabs. The Exhaustion perk is very helpful for catching mutated species.

Fairly rare Sunfish can be found around Island H14 at night, and Sunfish can be caught on bait south of Shaggy Spit.
