How to unlock the Oomph, Uugh, Where Is It? achievement in Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour - Definitive Guide

This is a cumulative achievement but the same secrets do not count towards your total. In order to get this achievement, you'll have to find 70 separate secrets. While this is not all of them, this is a fair number of them. If you need help, 3D Realms has a legacy walkthrough that shows you the locations of all the secrets in game available at http://legacy.3drealms.com/duke3d/walkthrough/. You can open that link in your Steam overlay as you play the game and follow along if you want. Keep in mind that this website does not cover the brand new episode but if you find all the secrets through the first four episodes, you will not need to find any in that episode.

Along the way, you'll also get the All Too Easy achievement for finding 1 secret.

Unlike the XBLA release of Duke Nukem 3D where you had to find 70 different secret areas, you can utilize the Playback Feature in this game and keep finding the same one over and over again.

Note that you can’t have any cheats active for this to work (as it disables the Playback Feature), so do this from a fresh new game.

There is a secret area near the beginning of the level ‘Spaceport’ in Episode 2. Select the “Piece of Cake” difficulty to spawn fewer enemies. When you start, turn around and go through the teleporter. Walk to the front of the ship and pick up the RPG, then turn around and walk back through the teleporter.

Walk down the corridor and turn to the right. You will see a force field door on the left and a pillar in front of you (on higher difficulties, there is a Trooper hiding behind this pillar). Walk around the pillar to the left to reveal a computer console with a Trooper standing in front of it (on higher difficulties there are two Troopers here). Kill the Trooper then switch to your RPG (if it isn’t already equipped). On the wall, you will see a column of broken monitors (the second column from the left of the switch). This is the secret area so press to reveal it. When it says “A Secret Place!” at the top of the screen, fire the RPG at the wall to kill yourself (and the Trooper in the secret area). Use the Playback Feature to rewind a few seconds and keep repeating until the achievement unlocks. This should take about 5 minutes.

The easiest way to get 70 secrets (hides) right at the checkpoint.
1. Select the “lunar apocalypse” episode, the “spaceport” level, and the “a piece of cake” difficulty.
2. Turn around and teleport behind the RPG.
3. We return and kill the enemy at the control panel.
4. We save just in case.
5. We take out the RPG and open the secret door to the hiding place. The enemy is behind her. We shoot at him. We both die.
6. Rewind the save in front of the door and repeat step 5.

It is not necessary to find 70 unique secrets; you can open the same ones at one level, finish the level and replay it again. The easiest way is at the first level of the first chapter, for convenience you can enable cheats
