How to unlock the Master Banker achievement in Dungeon Defenders - Definitive Guide

Using this method, I was able to make 15million in only 2 or 3 runs, and was able to make enough to max out Godly armour in a few more runs.

Easiest way to grab this is to take your highest level and do Alchemy Labs on Insane, take a second controller and bring a Squire into the game (unless your high level is a Squire, or you can try two Squires and try for two Rapiers) BEFORE the boss/final wave.

Easiest setup is placing Bowling Ball Turrets and Bouncer Blockades near the stairs, most enemies won't even hit the Bouncers if you have a strong Tower build, and putting some slicer blockades behind the odd potion making machine near the chest spawn, this'll take care of most enemies quickly .

Beware the Exploding enemies and Necromancers, they can become a pain if not dealt with quickly.

Upon the Demon Lords death, the Squire will receive a weapon called Malificars Rapier. If it has the poison damage of at least 230 - 250 and at least 22 upgrade slots, invest all into the poison (will cost about 2.5 mill). You'll end up getting at least 6million when you sell it.

I had one that was 256 poison (was around 9k after fully maxed) and 28 slots and is worth a little over 9million. If you're having trouble getting 2.5m, try playing Ramparts on Insane, I've received Godly items from the chests and they sell for quite a lot.

Credit to SmorgasBorgnine and ME INC: If you're lucky enough to get a Rapier with 300 poison, you can potentially earn more than 10 million from it.

Whew, man you should easily get more than 10million, I've never gotten one with that much poison damage. Just make sure to invest all into poison, and when you get to the last one, the game will have physical damage highlighted, so make sure to move it to poison.

Let me know how much you get and I'll update this.

I can confirm that if it has 300+ poison, you can get over 10 million. I had one yesterday that was 10.2 million that allowed me to get this 'cheevo.

Is 15M the maximum you can have or can you bank more?

On consoles, it's the max.

22 upgrade slots? As in levels you can invest in? If 22 is like a minimum, how much mana do you thing one with 40 upgrade levels will give me fully maxed? I just got this thing on my first insane run. Link to picture... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25212619/IMG_20120706_000135.jpg
Not sure if I should just keep it or max it out and sell it.

More than enough I'm sure, I know a patch was planned to increase the max mana you could carry, not sure if it has happened yet.

15 million mana is not the max. I'm currently at 58 million in my bank. Not sure what the max is.

A better weapon to upgrade is the Diamond Tipped Carver that you get for beating the Goblin Mech in the Throne room. I have one with 27 of 34 upgrades finished and it is worth 11.4MM so far. This had a low starting amount of electirc damage, about 140.

Much more difficult, but if it works, that's all that matters.

This doesn't seem to be working. Upgrading the sword is a net loss. If the upgrade costs 20000, the value increases 10000.

I am having the same problem that eyehunter is having. Maybe they patched it? Thoughts anyone?

it starts to look like a loss at the beginning but the more it levels the more the worth jumps. 1st level for mine i am working on now worth and cost to upgrade 16,394 - 7,687 it went up to worth 20,548 (loss of 3,533) on the 2nd level up. Currently on level 14/54 worth 523,479 with a upgrade cost of 123,564 but the previous level it was 368,867 and it cost 111,387 so now it is gaining more worth than it cost (cost 111,387 and gained 154,612 worth). Hopefully i added all that up right and you can understand. I am keeping a list of the worth and cost so i can be sure of the difference.

How's that missable?

I think it's marked as missable because technically if you kept spending your mana you wouldn't get it?

Can confirm this still works. Got a Malificar's Rapier that started with 303 and had 43 upgrade slots, yes, 43! I started with 2.4mil and ran out of money on slot 23, currently it's worth 4.765mil and I still have 20 slots left to upgrade.

It looks like the number of possible upgrades are much more important than the actual starting damage value. Anything with decent damage, 175-200 or more, and 25+ upgrades is guaranteed to make a profit. And once you earn the initial amount, you can generate lots of money with any qualifying weapon that you don't mind discarding.

Confirming this still works as well. I got a 254 poison Malificar's Rapier of higher quality (name is highlighted yellow.) It has 42 upgrades. Once I got it into the 30s I invested 400-500k mana and the value goes up 3mil+! I'm at 26mil value currently after investing 6.5mil into it and the way it's going, the projected value is going to be over 50mil...just need 3.5 million mana to finish the last 4 upgrades!

I'm literally going to be able to buy and upgrade almost everything in the game without issue after selling this bad boy.

Two methods:

1. A way to do it (near constantly for upgrades) is beat Summit on Insane difficulty to acquire your Animus pet. If it has roughly 26+ upgrade levels, upgrade it's projectile speed and ONLY its projectile speed. PS levels faster than any other stat, and will reach the hundreds of thousands...and after you upgrade the pet, will be worth more than 15mil. Then simply sell it.

2. A Good way to earn mana fast is Mageus Quarters on hard or insane survival. Squire is better for this. Place 1 bowling ball tower on the left and center stairwells up to the crystal, and a bouncer on the right. This should take care of wave one.

Next, set up all stairs up to the crystal to have a bouncer in front of 2 bowling towers, you should be able to do this by now, but it may take another round if you are a lower level.

Now place 2 harpoon towers between the left and center stairs on the edge to cover the birds.

Place 2 more harpoons on the edge between the center and right stairs. I also like putting a slicer right in front of the crystal to be safe. Upgrade whatever you want, and let it go.

Monsters will drop Mana when they are killed, and Bosses drop much more Mana when they are defeated. Any items that are dropped on the floor during the previous wave will be converted into Mana and stored in your Mana Bank automatically when you start the next Combat Phase or return to the Tavern.

Mana is required for building and repairing Defenses, using Hero Abilities, and for upgrading weapons and armor. Your Mana Bank can only hold a maximum limit of 15,000,000 Mana.

Once you have a Level 70 Squire, here's an easy way to earn Mana very quickly.

1. Play Alchemical Laboratory Campaign Level on Insane
2. Defeat the Boss, who will award you Malificar's Rapier and a random piece of Armor.
3. Check the Malificar's Rapier to see if it has the following: at least 160 points in Poision Elemental Damage and at least 21 Upgrade Levels
4. You will need at least 2.5 million mana as a "capital investment". Upgrade the Malificar's Rapier's Poison Elemental Damage up to the maximum you can go. Typically it goes up around 15-20% every level and it capped at a max of 455 points per upgrade.
5. The value of the weapon will raise exponentially according to the Elemental Damage stat. Its value will vary between 4million to 10million depending on its initial stats. Sell it to the Bank for a profit.
6. Repeat the above steps to gain as much mana as you need.
