How to unlock the Flawless Victory achievement in Dungeon Siege III - Definitive Guide

This wasn't as hard as I expected it to be - here's how I did it.

Stop reading now if you do not want SPOILERS.

I was a lvl 29 / 30 Lucas, with an AI Reinhardt.

The last boss is a 2 section battle - first part you will need to damage and then remove the armour to his left hand. Nothing too troubling here, but watch out for the 4 or 5 blue fireballs that launch at you - get hit by all 5 and you could get knocked-down, so roll (LT) just before they get close.

After that fairly easy section, the boss loses his arm and dislodges some rocks. My strategy thereafter was to hide behind the bottom-left rock (at, say, 7'o'clock on the screen).
This is beneficial for two reasons; firstly no black goo is generated here and acts as a natural 'choke point' as the enemies circumnavigate the rock to get you - so get the sword ready! Secondly, it stops the blue laser that he fires from tearing you up - whilst it's not deadly as a one-off hit, it's cumilative effect is deadly and this Cheev needs you to avoid damage where possible.

So, I leapt out from the rock and went to my idiotic AI's aid, as he decided to stand in the middle of the battle-field and try and Rambo it. I'd thin out the middle with blade-dash attacks, try and hit a few green orbs for health top-ups and then retreat back to the rock. You need to keep your partner alive as it takes too long to revive and you'd get knocked-out in the process.

Once the boss allows you to assault him , open up on him and then return to the safe-house and rinse and repeat.

Remember to self-heal! This allows you to help the AI whilst taking damage, as your being healed at the same time.

After 5 or so waves, the boss was defeated and the Cheev pinged! Good times.

Good luck!

i'd just like to add,the minions in the 2nd part of the boss battle that spawn each time he gets up will die after the blue laser thing goes off whether you fight them or not leaving the orbs behind,if you're struggling with this part you can just spent the whole time rolling around the rock you mentioned until they die then pick up the orbs when he falls if you happened to take any damage, with anjali and reinhardt they do a teleport type dodge which works a treat here

I found that if I just hid and waited for the minions to be 'recycled', my dumb AI partner would be knocked-out - hence why I leapt in there early to try and stop that.

Thanks for the input.

i haven't actually got this achievement yet, died during part 1,but when my AI died during 2nd part i just left him,he was useless anyway, reason i had to roll around was i put on my seemingly best armour, and sold everything else, didn't realise it had more than halved my hp (2400>900) so i couldn't really take much hits, armour just looked so cool and fiery

I'd like to note that there is a sound effect played when the 5 blue balls of death are falling, if you have trouble dodging it, listen for the noise.

I don't remember that, but thanks for a good point!

I actually have trouble with dodging the balls. There's two kinds. One's the straightforward dodgables, that's no issue. But another series would have heat-seeking capabilities and follow you. I can sometimes avoid by dodging back but there's so many of them I still get hit at least once every time. Does anyone have a better tip or pattern of dodging for it?

If you 'lead' them, you can quickly duck behind that rock I mentioned and then hit that and then disappear! That's how I did it...

I found that rolling TOWARD the boss is the easiest way to dodge the missiles. Occasionally one or two will hit you but most of them will hit the ground harmlessly behind you.

If anyone is still playing, for the first section (which is the hardest) i found that if you stay to the right hand side of the screen he only fires the targeted blue balls one or two times, and they are the only things you really need to worry about. It will take longer this way as you only get a few hits in when his hand drops to your side of the screen but is a lot safer.

Just got this. Also not sure if anyone else is still playing, but for the first part with the blue orbs, I suggest you have 2000 health at the very least. You can take two or three hits from the orbs without going down, hopefully with enough left over to heal yourself up again.

For reference, loading from an auto-save I scraped together equipment in my inventory and got up to 2300 HP. I made it through the fight the first try (after numerous failed attempts with only 1300 HP), but I came within 200 HP of dying at one point. Definitely prioritize Stamina over Armor, but don't ignore the latter completely.

"I actually have trouble with dodging the balls. There's two kinds."

this guy is right. there's 2 blue ball attacks. One is the boss will place his 2 hands on the stage and shoot them out his back. These are easy to dodge

the second kind is where he shoots like 12 out of his mouth that will track you better and these are IMPOSSIBLE to dodge.

The trick seems to be to hang back. If you get too aggressive and close, he will shoot the ones out his mouth and these guaranteed will kill you

I know this is an old solution, but I just finished my first playthrough of the game and wanted to throw in my 2 cents for anyone going for this in the future.

For whatever reason, the first half of the fight was much harder for me. I got through it by staying on the right side, attack when he slams his hand down, dodge the 3 balls he shoots out afterwards, and when he spawned the archons I just rolled around until they disappeared. It seemed like whenever I tried to fight the archons he would shoot the homing balls out of his mouth and I would almost certainly go down.

On the second section I stayed behind the bottom left rock, and when he spawned enemies I would roll around back and forth between there and the rock on the right while avoiding the laser. Using the empowered healing ability should keep the companion from going down, but if they do then you have time to get them up as soon as he sucks the mobs back up before he sprays goo. Rinse and repeat.

Missable.

This is best attempted on Easy. First focus on his hand while it is down. Once you deplete its health by 1/2, you will then need to focus on the head. The god will spawn various enemies that you can either kill or avoid, as after awhile the god will suck them up and either drop his head or arm depending on what stage of the fight, so you can focus on that.
