How to unlock the Enduring Champion achievement in Dungeon Siege III - Definitive Guide

100.000 damage taken is quite a bit. I was doing this on my Hardcore play-through and was really aiming to get all the deed modifiers to help me out. Sustaining 100k damage will net you the Enduring Champion deed which gains you +2 stamina, or +20 hit-points.

It is contested if "in one adventure" means in one active session, or simply means on one character during a playthrough. For myself, I'm fairly certain I had taken a lot of damage up to this guides point, but it felt like I had to get another 100k for the achievement. CoMANdo DOOM in the comments received the achievement after roughly 15k after a load, so it could very well be cumulative.

You can get the attached deed for this without getting the achievement, in which case you have to do it in one session following the guide below.

The easiest place I found for this is in Stonebridge, more specifically the Crypts of the Sacred Blood. A few minutes in, you’ll come across a second automatic bridge that has to be extended, right after a convenient save-point. When you close in on this bridge it will show you a short sequence of giant pendulum blades lowering from the ceiling. Clear the bridge of enemies and note the locked door at the end; this will ensure peace and quiet while you die some 100-150 times. Position yourself close enough to one of the blades so you take damage, but not as close that you fall over beneath it. Make sure your follower is behind you and not off to the side.

The blades did about 150-160 damage each swing, roughly every second. My character had 1500 hit-points and was resurrected on the money every time, with 750 hit-points. This was the perfect set-up and I just left the game alone and went on to do something else in the meantime.

Thanks for the info Commando, but are you sure you didn't get hit for that much during the Jeyne fight? She packs a pretty mean punch and it's not unlikely to rack up that much dmg. Reason I ask is that it seems fairly on the spot to take that amount of damage at Jeyne, as many get the very achievement there.

Should be easy to test though, if anyone else wants to chip in. If it's cumulative on your character you should be able to take about half damage from the blades in this example, save, quit and reload. It should only take half the time then, 10 minutes tops.

I got the deed and not the achievement, so I think this is in one session and not over the career !

I did a my normal play through as reinhart an received the deed but not the achievement, but on my hardcore play through as Lucas i received the deed and achievement by the time i had finished all side quests in stone bridge.

just thought id let everyone know it seemed a bit glitchy but you don't always need to farm damage from the blades or fire coming from the ground it will come eventually from my experience

Another horrible, buggy achievement... Twice now I've gotten the deed, but no pop.

Are you doing it in one session Taeglin? If you keep failing, you need to try with another character.

The damage for the deed is cumulative but the cheevo must be in one go.

I know this is slightly old, but something rather strange just happened to me. I read this solution and then checked my deeds and I had already earned the Enduring Champion deed. Well, the next fight I got into as soon as I was hit for the first time the achievement popped.

Not sure if this is worth mentioning or not but I was also playing the digital version of the game.

Yeah this took 100k exactly in one go, even though I had plenty of damage already taken. Took 25 minutes only with this method. Thanks!

First time posting a solution. I found this on x360a http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31...

If you missed the opportunity to read the first solution before entering the Crypts in Stonebridge, You can then head on over to Glitterdelve Mines (the Kaari Pass) you can simply stand on a fissure and it will do over 400dmg every 6secs.

This method is only slightly worst than the first one mentioned.

I am playing as Katarina and as a range char it is very hard for me to take 100000 dmg in a session because most of the time im just running away from enemies and sniping.

Hope this helps and if I can make the solution easier to understand do let me know.

Got the deed well before the end game... and the achievement never popped. I died a lot :)

I have a save in the mines... I'll try that method after my sessions today.

If your having trouble getting the achievment to pop after you get the deed, I think the problem is that the deed is set at 100k of damage but the actual achievment is set higher, I would have to say around 150k. It took about 5 mins after I got the deed for the achievment to unlock using the pendulum trick in the Crypts.

Glitchy.

This will come over the course of the game and you will easily accumulate damage. You can confirm you have got over the 100,000 mark by checking your Deeds. For me, I got the deed long before getting the trophy, just keep going and it will come eventually.

The achievement may be glitchy. For some, the damage accumulates, and for others, you need to get 100,000 in one game. Play according to the story with any character, you will reach caves where fire will shoot out of the ground. You stand on this fire, put down the pad and watch how you die; you are immediately resurrected by the bot and again.
