Gold is the game's main currency and is used to buy upgrades, rooms and pay your minions but without it, your dungeon will grind to a halt. Fortunately there is plenty of gold to be found in the game and there are 3 types of gold sources: small and large gold vein and the infinite gold vein. The small ones are 1-off walls lined with gold that give small amounts of gold when mined (~50 gold), while the large ones when highlighted to be mined have a gold outline surrounding it indicating that the vein can be mined for substantial amounts. The infinite gold vein works like the large gold vein, but has red rubies embedded in the rock and are visible to you. These can be mined forever and you will need such veins to get 1 million gold.

It's unlikely you can get 1 million gold from simply playing the campaign and you'll need to replay campaign maps or try a few Skirmish or Online maps to finish this off. I recommend The Poshlands Skirmish map as it has many infinite gold veins to mine. Keep mining until the trophy pops. You will need to make really large gold chambers to hold everything so either find a way to spend gold or keep enlarging your rooms or simply complete the Skirmish and restart, since gold mined is cumulative across all sessions.

I also recommend playing as Demons if playing Skirmish, as the Demon minions have the teleport upgrade allowing minions to teleport quickly from point to point, making mining and general work a lot faster.

Do note that the 1 million gold trophy might glitch on you, I say might because it didn't glitch on me but it did for others. To avoid heartache, make regular backups. See this link for more info: LINK
