After taking control of Thalya, you must kill 9 enemies with her Fire Bomb spell. Fire Bomb is an auto-cast spell with high splash damage, represented by a flame icon next to her profile.
Your main concern for this achievement is running out of enemy heroes to destroy with it. So to ensure you reach the required number of kills, make sure not control Thalya at all because her AI will automatically target the two groups of stunned enemies with her Fire Bomb and give you the achievement.
Load the previous auto-save if you don't get the achievement and try again.

I found the other solution unhelpful and confusing so I hope this is more useful.
Thalya is controlled once you get to her at the end of the mission.
- Step 1. Save the game.
- Step 2. Step away from the enemies
- Step 3. Push down the left thumbstick
and then select the hero (any enemy) you are targetting with 
(you may need to get a little closer as she may not attack even if her line of sight suggests she can)
- Step 4. Step back away
- Step 5. Rinse and repeat
The achievement will unlock the moment you kill the 9th enemy.
If it doesn't unlock, load up your save and try again.

Done in the "The Shadow of Absolute Evil" level. Once you gain control of Thalya, she has a powerful Fire Bomb attack that is cast once every few seconds automatically. You can either sit there and let the auto-attack kill stuff or you can manually aim. Either way you will get this trophy without even trying as the level ends once Thalya kills everyone in sight.
