Fuse is the first boss you encounter. He has 3 attacks.
When he says "SWARM!" he will cast green fireballs that will track you. Use aerial dust storm (jump and hold Y) to negate these projectiles.
When he says "TAKE THIS!" he will cast a series of fireballs in a straight line. You can interrupt it by hitting him, or dash behind him for a free hit.
He'll also randomly do a wall of fire attack that fills much of the screen.
I found the X, Y, X, X, X, Y combo very effective here. (X,Y launches him, then it's 3 quick melees with X, and Y throws him into the ground) Once you manage to land this cleanly, you can run towards him right after the throw and repeat the combo over and over. Do this as much as possible because it gives him no chance to do damage to you, and also does good damage to him.

Not much needs to be said about this fight, Fuse will be using Fire to his advantage but his defense is horribly weak. The best strategy for me both times I played this was to keep getting in Fuse's face and never giving him a chance to get away, you can easily juggle him with a few combos and dodge roll around if he manages to pull off a flame attack. Other than that, this is a piece of cake.

The rest of the time I'm throwing projectiles to add damage when I can't get close to do the combo.

Story Related, can't be missed
You will encounter Fuse in Chapter 1 - Destiny. After being sent to Abadis Forest to find out what is wrong with a neighboring village, you will find out a person named Fuse is the man causing all the chaos. Fuse has 3 attacks.
Fuse will say "Dodge This!" indicating he will shoot fireballs out of his hands. Dodge by going to the other side or jumping on top of him. His next attack is "Swarm!" which means he will shoot green flames out of his hands and they will move in your direction. Simply attack him before he finishes the move. In the last one he will say "Ehraaa!" and summon down 3-4 vertical pillars to hurt you. Just stay in the open spaces and you should be fine. I had some trouble during this boss on Hardcore.
