How to unlock the Opposite of Fail achievement in Dust An Elysian Tail - Definitive Guide

Fale is the collection quest giver in Aurora Village. There are six separate quests where he'll ask for some items from certain monsters.

Better than Nothing - 5 Imp Hides
Taking Point - 8 Beast Spears
Slimed - 4 Slimy Spikes & 4 Slimy Coats
Reinforcement - 2 Giant Rocks & 2 Giant Cores
Freedom of Movement - 6 Avee Wings & 6 Avee Claws
Find the Sparklies - 3 Florn Tentacles & 3 Florn Sparks

Once you've obtained at least one of any item, sell one to any merchant to catalog the item. When you do this, the shop will restock them over time, allowing you to purchase them instead of farming more monsters. As long as you're killing the majority of monsters, and cataloging any new materials you find, this achievement will come with ease.

All the monsters you need to kill for these items are conveniently located in Abadis Forest. This video will show you what each monster and monster drop look like. Click on a quest under "Fale Quests" to skip to it.

I can't seem to spawn a Slimy Coat material, despite killing the appropriate enemy over and over and...you get the idea. wink Any suggestions?

While I could go into detail about each item you need and where to find them, there is an easier way to give this solution.

Fale can be found in Aurora Village on the far right side. His quests focus on using specific numbers of items to better the equipment of their military. So, it's up to you to find those items.

First, any time you find a new material item and go to a merchant, make sure you sell him at least one of the material. Even if it's your last one, just do it as it will save you a lot of trouble. Every few minutes the shops "restock" and add more of the items you've given them. Now, play through the game up until you save Mudpot, which is directly after beating the boss for Chapter 2. Head back to Fale and at this point you should at least have every item he needs. talk to him until you're missing an item, then just head to the merchant nearby and buy what you need.

This way is far easier than tracking the items down, so hope it helps you guys.

All credit to this goes to bs000 From the True Achievement site if you wish to give this a positive vote please go there and upvote his. I only bring this over to the True Trophies site as I wish for this community to have guides that are easy access. I have not made any edits as his guide was perfect in my opinon. Any use of ths word I outside this paragraph refers to bs000.

There are only SIX tasks that he will ask you to complete:

In the third square of Aurora Village, talk to Fale, you need to bring it to him (sometimes dropped from enemies or bought from a merchant)
5 Imp Hides (the very first simple enemies).

2.Taking Point
After the quest Better than Nothing, talk to Fale, you need to bring it to him (sometimes dropped from enemies or bought from a merchant)
8 Beast Spear (simple enemies with clubs).

3.Slimmed
After the Taking Point quest, talk to Fale, you need to bring him (sometimes dropped from enemies or bought from a merchant)
4 Slimy Spikes + 4 Slimy Coats (jumping slugs with spikes).

4. Reinforcement
After the Slimed quest, talk to Fale, you need to bring it to him (sometimes dropped from enemies or bought from a merchant)
2 Giant Rocks + 2 Giant Cores (large enemies with long arms and legs).

5. Freedom of Movement
After the Reinforcement quest, talk to Fale, you need to bring it to him (sometimes dropped from enemies or bought from a merchant)
6 Avee Wings + 6 Avee Claws (flying dragons).

6. Find the Sparklies

All quest items drop out in the first 2 locations of the game. Where the very first opponents are small imps (like animated boulders of different colors), wolfjackals with sticks, stone giants (golems) and multi-mouthed pieces of mucus that can stretch and hit in all directions . One of the last quests is baby dragons, which are also found in the first locations.

You can, following the advice above, hand over 1 new material for the catalog to the store (42 different horns and hooves in total) and then (about 30% of the way through) just run from the store to the quest NPC (a skinny mouse in a light brown shirt, shorts and a light cap , is located in the very first square of the map on the right. You can complete all 6 quests in 5 minutes, running back and forth, since the reward for the previous one is always more than the gold needed to purchase the quest “tentacles and tusks” for the next quest.

But you can simply collect them in races according to the main plot.
