How to unlock the Tinkerer achievement in Dust An Elysian Tail - Definitive Guide
At some point in your adventure, you will encounter Haley for the first time. Her profession is a blacksmith and her craft allows her to create an item from a blueprint, provided that you have the right materials for it. You will get the first blueprint from her. To obtain more blueprints, just go into any level you desire and fight monsters until they drop them. They can always be found constantly, so you never have to worry about it.
All you have to do is get the materials for the certain blueprint you want crafted, then head back to Haley and have her craft it. Once she crafts that item, the achievement should unlock. Also, if you need to find materials at a faster rate, speak with her or go to one of the item merchants (the ones that live in the tents) and see if they have the material in stock. If they don't,make sure they get it catalogued by selling one so that they can restock it overtime.
Have fun and good luck!
You have to complete the first part of a sidequest called The Blacksmith to gain the ability to craft items. Obtain this quest from Avgustin on your way through Aurora Village. He will give you a blueprint which is also required for crafting. Other blueprints are random drops from monsters you kill.
Make your way to Archer's Pass from the world map. Find Haley at the top of this region. Select a blueprint and craft it. If you don't have the materials, you can buy them directly from her. Be sure to catalog your materials by selling them to shops so they'll be available when you need them. You can also return and talk to her again later to craft items, or find the communicator in the next part of the quest which allows you to craft from anywhere.
Blueprints are dropped from enemies and Treasure Chests within the game, they have certain requirements in order to create the item. With any blueprint you currently own, go to Hailey in Archers' Pass (see The Blacksmith in Archers' Pass trophy for a bit more reference) and talk to her about making an item for you out of that chosen blueprint. Once the item is created, the trophy will pop.
