How to unlock the Well on your Way achievement in Dust An Elysian Tail - Definitive Guide

The first Ability Orb you find is located near the start of the first level. You will encounter it, but you can bypass it, so make sure when you get to the fallen tree to jump down, continue across and collect the orb before you continue.

Unmissable: start the game, go one area over to the right on your map, and then after Fidget triggers her talk about a 6th sense, you will find your first Ability Orb all the way on the right. Jump on it and this is yours.

Story related and can't be missed.

Ability orbs grant you new skills. Usually something like dashing, or a new projectile for Fidget. The first one, the dash ability, is hard to miss. Later on you'll collect more abilities that are required to progress.

Story related, can't be missed

Once you gain control of Dust in the forest for the first time, go one map over to the right. After a few jump tutorials, Fidget will trigger a talk with you letting you know she has a 6th sense. Keep right and jump on the orb to gain the ability.
