How to unlock the The Janitor Possesses the Keys achievement in Dustforce - Definitive Guide

Red Keys are the hardest Keys in the game to get, and can only be obtained by playing levels unlocked with a gold key.

normal levels award silver keys,
silver levels award gold keys,
and gold levels award red keys.

You don't need a perfect score to get a key, Getting a poor rating in several levels will add up to a key, making this fairly easy to accomplish.

You can either obtain a perfect score or you can complete multiple levels with a lower score to unlock a key. The achievement will unlock as soon as you obtain the required key. The following levels will unlock the following keys:

Normal level – Does not require key to unlock – Reward: Silver key
Silver level – Requires silver key to unlock – Reward: Gold Key
Gold Level – Requires gold key to unlock – Reward: Red Key
! Hub – Requires 16 red keys to unlock – Reward: Final 8 levels in the game

Upon clearing a level, you will obtain 2 ranks based on Completion and Finesse and a percentage needed to unlock keys. The higher the ranks, the higher the percentage you get, starting from 50% for an S Rank and gradually decreasing by 10% for each lower rank (D Rank is the lowest one and awards you 10% only). The quickest way to get a red key is to SS-rank a Gold level (each S Rank nets you 50% for a total of 100%, thus unlocking the key). Alternatively, you can reach 100% across multiple Gold levels (i.e. you get SD in a Gold level, which means 60%, and then you get BD in another Gold level, which means the remaining 40%). 16 Red keys are needed to unlock the ! hub, which contains the 8 most brutal levels in the game.
