How to unlock the Enlightened! achievement in Dying Light - Definitive Guide

This doesn't require the grappling hook but it's a lot faster with it. This guide is more of a mop up if you haven't got the achievement by the time you beat the main story.

To start off you're going to want to unlock the Safehouse on top of the apartment buildings in the western area of the slums that way you'll have easy access to a store and a bed.

Now what you're going to want to do is sleep till night and after you wake up simply walk forward and use the zipline in front of you. Once you reach the bottom you're going to want to shoot any gun you have to make a noise so that the volatiles come running then simply run to the lights and activate the trap, Rinse and Repeat as needed.

Also a side note if you're running low on ammo there's a store in the safehouse where you can replenish your supplies.

Here's a video guide if you'd prefer that:

Great job on your first guide! :)
I wonder if the counter counts each time a volatile is blinded, even if it's the same volatile(s) repeatedly. Could be faster to just run around with a group chasing you and blind them over and over. I don't think this worked With the flashlight / flare achievement, so likely wouldn't work for this one either. Thanks!

Just got this easily after first trying without much luck two years ago, i think something must have been changed in a patch since then because every activation like in the video now sends the tracker up by about 20%, rather than crawling upwards in a hit-and-miss fashion like it did before

For this achievement and "Blinded by the Lights," the best enemies to blind are Volatiles. For this achievement, you'll need to have one chasing you, and then run to a light trap and activate it to blind the Volatile, scaring him away. You can actually grind this out on the same light trap with the same Volatile if you want.

For "Blinded by the Lights" you'll just need to use flares or a flashlight instead of a light trap. Flares are the safest and most reliable to use. Flares are typically found in air drops, and you can also find a blueprint in the Slums to craft special flares. In general though, whenever you're being chased by a Volatile (which happens decently often as you explore at night) you'll likely end up using flares to keep it away just as you play naturally, making progress towards this achievement. It should also be noted that at the very end of the story missions, you'll go through an area with tons of Volatiles where you're essentially forced to blind them to proceed. You'll make a lot of progress towards this achievement then, too.

In order to earn this trophy, you must first complete the story mission, "First Assignment". After you have learned on how to use light traps, use to blind enemies near the light. You will know when you're near a light trap, as you'll see a icon on the bottom right screen of your mini-map. Also bear in mind that you can only blind enemies during the night but not during the day.

For a method on how to actually earn this trophy, refer to the second paragraph of Electrified! for more details.
