How to unlock the GD Parkour Instructor achievement in Dying Light - Definitive Guide

UPDATE: Credits to Fooga for letting me know that the grappling hook glitch has been patched with the release of The Following DLC. Not a big deal, follow the vids and you can nail this legit.

So here's the vids I found of this guy Gary Nicholson on Youtube doing every single run. It hasn't been mentioned but the day and night runs stack, so you might as well just go ham at night, which is what I've been doing because I don't want to do all of these twice. Realistically night runs aren't any different than day, it's just a little harder to see. You can pretty much get away from the Volatiles and the Virals no problem.

And finally, here's the location to "Not So Obvious" if you have trouble finding it.
Credits to Gary Nicholson wherever you are, maybe throw some likes on his vids, I did. Cheers!

Fuck Techland for adding these achievements, seriously. These aren't even fun, they're just frustrating.

Agreed, that's why I did them at night because having to get them twice would have really pissed me off.

i fail because of the broken climbing mechanics and it's hard enough to get to the sport at night then it turns day in like 5 minutes so fuck with bull shit game plus the game has way too many bugs horrible made game if they can't patch the bugs out after a year

It would probably be better if this solution were to replace runs where severe mistakes were made. (ex On the Edge). When looking for the best possible path, these make it hard to use.

I feel like I'm fighting the control s as much as anything else for these. Night isn't that much different from day and the volatiles aren't really a factor. Got six done and I'm about ready to call it quits for this.

Yeah I know how you feel dude, I felt the same way. I just stopped for awhile then picked it up again when I found the vids and made the solution. You'll do it, just come back later to it when you're less concerned.

I didn't really think they were that bad myself.

You need to have maxed level agility that's for sure though.

If you can get the Pyza Suit and use it for these races that is ridiculous. That would make it easier than using the grappling hook glitch before it was patched lol. This was a difficult achievement even when I did it with the grappling hook glitch, I cannot imagine doing it legitimately. Some of the races were very long and did not tolerate any mistakes.

These achievements are fucking stupid as fuck.
I have max agility and I am trying to complete these stupid fucking challenges but Crane keeps JUMPING AROUND LIKE A JIPPITY FUCKING MORON, EITHER OVER SHOOTING FUCKING JUMPS OR FUCKING MISSING THEM COMPLETELY!

These challenges are pretty much almost impossible.

Does anybody knows, where I can see which parkour I have already beaten at night?

Been awhile, but I wanna say you can't, need to keep track of that yourself. I did it by only doing them at night, that's how I knew I did it, since you needed to do either both day and night, or just at night.

These are very doable with the Pyza Suit. I was dreading attempting these but actually knocked them out quite quick. Even managed to knock five out in one sitting with just a couple of attemps. I found the hardest one the On The Edge challenge.

As already mentioned, the Pyza Suit helps a lot in several of these, especially the Not So Obvious challenge in Old Town. You can just glide past a number of obstacles several times.

One tip I saw, if your speed boost is about to run out, do a slide and it'll continue. Basically, any action that would normally net you agility points lets the boost continue.

how is it that I've just done all these with the help of your guide, and got the achievement for doing all the fever challenges at night, but the achievement for doing all the fever challenges (anytime) hasnt popped ?? what logic is that ?

EDIT

if you have the same issue what fixed it for me is to hard reset xbox,

then load the game back up, dont hit continue , instead click play and load your save.

then it popped before the game loaded in

phew :D

One thing that helped me was turning the gamma up to max in the settings.

These were a pain for the most part, but once you understand how the game mechanics likes to screw with you, it gets easier. In my opinion the old town runs were much easier than the slums runs as you can make more use of the Pyza suit.

If you can, avoid getting the tic tac skill. You have no idea how many times I ended up running up a wall and making a backwards jump away from the wall, instead of just grabbing the damn ledge!

These really weren't that hard. Did them all in about an hour and a half. Only one or two were annoying but your videos helped out. Rest I did in one or two tries. Thumbs up from me!

I agree that the day and night cycle was really lame when dealing with the races. I think First Assessment or Favela Fever that right when I got to the finish line, it said "night survived" and it didn't count for me.

They've been good about that sort of stuff though so I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually patched in an option to make your game permanent day or night.

I've decided to make my own videos for this, these challenges actually ain't that challenging if you use a pyza suit. Just go to Old Town and follow the location on my video and get the pyza suit. Then just start going through all the challenges. To make it even more easier I've set my self a goal to do 1 challenge a day maybe 2 sometimes so you don't get bored and or frustrated but i'ts up to you. #

Thanks a lot for the pizza suit tip bro! It really makes the way so sofly than the normal way. First time I saw your parkour fever i think "holly cow this dude is flying" that freeze my attention so then i've checked the way to find and equip it. Thank you so much.

There are 10 challenges to complete altogether and you can do them in any order you want. You can also do them in the day or night, but for this achievement, you need to do them at night. Please do note, however, that they do stack with the day challenges.

The locations show up on the map as an icon of a foot with 3 stars underneath it. They are essentially speed running challenges where you must pass through a certain number of checkpoints in a set time. There are 5 challenges in the Slums and 5 in Old Town.

Slums

  • End Of The Tunnel
  • First Assignment
  • Favela Fever
  • Twister
  • Tiptoeing To Gazi

Old Town

  • Tower Run
  • Diagonal
  • On The Edge
  • Blue District Fever
  • Not So Obvious

Here are some VIDEOS of all the runs, thanks to Gary Nicholson.

The challenge "Not So Obvious" seems to only show up on the map if you're close to it, but it is included with the videos where to find it. Additionally, it's best to do the challenge solo because the person that comes first gets the credit for the challenge, not both.

Go through all the above challenges at night time. If it is not night time then go to a Safe Zone and sleep until night then return to the challenge, it must be completed before it turns daytime.
