How to unlock the Judo Master achievement in Dying Light - Definitive Guide

To get this, you must have the Grapple skill under the agility tree.

You can boost this really easily, takes about 5-6 minutes.

Just find a lone infected and as he/she/it lunges at you, press the left thumb stick in the direction you want to shove them, you can do cn_LSd, cn_LSl or cn_LSr while pressing cn_A at the same time.

Just do this 50 times.

Another cool thing is you get 20 agility points for each grapple!

You can't boost this with someone, YOU have to do the grapples, not your coop partner

The direction + cn_A has to be hit as soon as the display shows, it takes some practice to get it right, but it's so much fun to throw them about, especially if near ledges or spikes, because you get the points for the grapple & for the kill, just don't try in a crowd because you'll get mobbed

As The Mr Fill pointed out, you have to do this with only one infected around, and it's against an infected, not a co-op partner. Once you get the rhythm, you'll get almost of 100% of the grapples. It's a timing thing.

Has anyone had issues with this achievement getting stuck at 98%? I keep doing more grapples but it doesn't increase and doesn't unlock.

EDIT: It popped. Yesterday I had tried quitting/killing the game and reloading to get some more grapples, but it still wouldn't popped. Today I loaded up the game and the achievement suddenly popped on the title screen.

As an update, since I've got most of my abilities near max this becomes MUCH easier:
If you've stunned a zombie (normal or runner), standing in front of it you can grapple it, so either do the jump over stun, or when it grabs you and you hit cn_LB to push it off, at that point make sure you're in front of it and hold cn_A + press a direction (side or back) and you'll throw them

As SneakyStabbalot said, once you get the rhythm, you'll get this almost 100% of the time - the earlier you press it the better, but press & hold, don't do what I tried near the start, which is pumping on the cn_A button - you can hold it before the infected gets to you, and with runners you'l have more chance of them being throwable as they run at you (some of the normal ones will swing & try to hit you)

Once you unlock the Grapple find a quiet corner with a lone zombie (i had one left in a Quarantine Zone) and throw the poor bugger around until this unlocks. If it bursts, just find another and continue.

Great solution :-) This worked for me although I did it with a group of three zombies. Just make sure you watch your back if you do it with any more than one!

Grapple is a combat ability you can unlock in the first row of the Agility skill tree that allows you to use the momentum of your opponent – human or zombie – to toss them away from you. Performing grapples is most easily done on humans and the Viral (really fast) zombies in my opinion, as they have pretty predictable and aggressive movement patterns. When they move in to attack you, move in the direction you want to throw them, and tap . Once you've done a cumulative total of 50, the achievement will unlock.

In order to earn this trophy, you must first learn the "Grapple" Agility skill so this trophy does NOT refer towards the grapple hook. This is by far one of the easiest and fastest trophies to earn in the game. In order to grapple an enemy, they must try to attack you so stand around and button mash while holding the stick or . The reason that you want to button mash is because this always guarantees a grapple, rather than having to wait to see the " Grapple" prompt. This can also be farmed on the same zombie(s) so it can be earned within five minutes. After you throw an enemy for the 50th time, the trophy will unlock.
