How to unlock the Spirit of Camaraderie achievement in DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS - Definitive Guide

NOTE FOR COMPLETIONISTS: This achievement is practically unmissable since after finishing the story once (with any faction) you can replay the story from any chapter, while keeping all your skills/unlocks (like New Game+), all on the same save file. That being said, some characters you can bond with can/will die at certain points in the story, rendering them unable to bond with further until you go back and replay previous chapter(s). So it's a good rule of thumb to interact/bond with any officers as soon as you see them on the world map. That way you don't risk missing their Bond interaction and have to backtrack later by replaying old story chapters, trying to figure out what you missed. The same goes for Trainings and Requests - do them right away before progressing the story too much if possible, and you'll have an easier time getting those achievements with minimal backtracking as well.

Bond Lv. ranges anywhere from Acquaintance (basically Bond Lv. 0) to Bond Max. (Bond Lv. 5). The Bond Lv. of every officer can be checked at the Shui Jing Retreat, which is the hut that appears in You province after progressing a bit in the story. Here, you can also check for interactions to see if anyone on the map is ready to meet, or even if you have a letter that will trigger a Bond interaction! So, you should definitely make it a habit to check the Shui Jing Retreat after each story battle you complete.

The Bond Lv. of the different officers in the game are increased via the following methods:
  • Interacting with the character on the world map, while they have a handshake icon over their head
  • Interacting with the character on the world map, after they invited you to meet them via a letter. They should also appear with a handshake icon
  • Completing a Request or Training assigned to you by that character
  • Completing a Request given by someone else, which affects that character (this is the least common method, by far)
Some officers you can't bond fully with unless you joined their faction in Chapter 3. So, each time you replay the story and join a new faction to work on their different ending, be sure to check the map after each story battle, and see if anyone has appeared on the world map to interact with. Likewise, remember to check your letters too as these can trigger Bond interactions to appear!

MISSING ANY? Let's talk about the officers that are, imo, the trickiest to max. I'll have to spoil some characters that die/can be saved in the story, so be warned:

ONE MORE THING/WARNING: I only noticed it happen once, but I had an instance where a Bond interaction didn't appear on the world map, and when I checked at the Shui Jing Retreat the guy told me there was no one to interact with. And yet, upon loading a story battle and exiting out of it, I suddenly had a new Bond interaction! I assume entering/exiting a battle "refreshes" the world map, so to speak. What's weird is this doesn't seem to do the same thing when stopping at an Inn to check letters. So, if you are missing a bond interaction and think it's just not showing up, try entering and exiting a story mission.

**Missable**

You will be able to unlock this achievement using the manual save technique, which you need to make in Chapter 3, before choosing between the three story paths. This is because some of the officer bonds require you go down certain paths.

In order to obtain all of these, you will need to start New Game+. There are forty-five officers in total, and they are as follows:
  • Cao Cao: You get this by completing the Wei story path and aligning with Cao Cao (see The Path to Power (10G)).
  • Chen Gong (Wei Path): Complete their request after the Sishui Gate battle, then do another random battle, and he will pop up with a training request. Later, after the Battle of Puyang, you get his second training mission. Complete this and you will max this bond.
  • Dian Wei: You meet Dian Wei at the start of Chapter 3, and you get the chance to complete their training. In order to max this bond, you need to complete both training opportunites as they pop up and also save Dian Wei at Wan Castle.
  • Guo Jia: Complete his training missions as and when they pop up, and then, in Chapter 5, make sure that you save him during the Battle of Mt. Bailang.
  • Jia Xu: Complete Jia’s training missions as and when they pop up, then, after the Escape from Xiaopei, you will max this bond.
  • Li Dian: After the Battle of Sishui Gate, you will get the first bond with Li Dian, and the next chance will arrive in chapter 4. Complete both of Li Dian’s requests to find an elder, and you will max this bond.
  • Xiahou Dun: Complete the first training session, then Dun’s request in Chapter 4. You’ll then receive a letter from him in Chapter 5, and this bond will reach max.
