This unlocks for acquiring every skill in the skill tree. The Skill tree is broken into multiple sections that unlock as we level up our character by using different weapon types. Skills cost skill points with the amount required increasing per skill as we get deeper into the skill tree.
To farm Skill Points, we want to find a Skirmish that challenges us to eliminate the enemies. These are the only types of skirmishes that will work for this farming method.
Once in the Skirmish, we want to focus on only fighting the soldiers and avoiding the Officers. In this type of Skirmish, there are no loss conditions, outside of us dying, and the only win condition is to defeat the officers. If we ignore them and keep them alive, soldiers will respawn infinitely. We are then rewarded with 3 skill points for every 100 soldiers we defeat. I’d recommend using the Spear as it is great for clearing groups, but we can also use this method to level up weapons and can even complete training challenges during these skirmishes for even more skill points.
For demonstration, I played this skirmish for around 5 minutes, eliminating over 1,600 soldiers before taking out the officers and finishing the mission. Without completing any additional tasks, I was able to earn 55 skill points in this time, averaging out to around 10 skill points per minute with this method.

The skills are divided up between ranks, starting at Knight-Errant and ascending through Adept, Expert, Master, Hero, and Musou. You will need to farm some skill points in order to get all of these; the best way to do that is to take part in skirmishes. Specifically, the skirmishes that reward you for defeating enemy soliders are best; you can avoid officers and just concentrate on swathes of soldiers for as long as you can. This way, you can get a god fifty skill points from a single skirmish
