How to unlock the Dodge Master achievement in EA SPORTS Active 2 - Definitive Guide
Of all the "do 1000 of x" achievements, this is probably the easiest. Each time you add dodgeball to a custom workout, you have the opportunity to dodge 148 balls (on medium at least -- other difficulties may have different numbers). Even if you do a bad job of dodging balls you shouldn't need to do the activity more than seven times (and you may already have some under your belt).
Go to workouts and then create a custom workout. Under activities, add "Dodgeball" to your workout. You can do this as many times as you need. Then just play the workout and dodge. This shouldn't take you much more than ten minutes.
The achievement will pop as soon as the workout ends, if you've crossed the 1000 mark.

I did this achievement the same way, however while progressing through the phase workouts realized it would have easily unlocked naturally along with a lot of the "1000 of exercise" achievements. I believe it was work out 6 of phase 1 alone had 4 dodgeball activities, and on medium intensity thats almost 600 dodges. But, it all counts towards the 10,000 calorie achievement

If you plan to complete the 9 week program without skipping this exercise and dodge all the balls in the exercises, you will most likely unlock this as you progress through the program. Below is a table which shows the total time and exercises needed if you do not do the programs.
