How to unlock the Holey Moley achievement in EA SPORTS PGA TOUR - Definitive Guide
The most consistent method I found was to play Hole 14 on Liberty National as Scottie Schefter. I also found 3-click easier and more reliable than stick aim/power. Set it as a custom hole game so you can just restart from this hole immediately. Day doesn't matter, I left it as default.
I purposely messed up my first (tee-off) shot so it went 1-5 yards, and then it set me up for a 100+ hole out. With this golfer and this shot type, aiming DEAD CENTRE in the white aim window (2nd click, top) and white shot strength window (3rd click, bottom) would hit the ball slightly too hard, but close on the green; close enough that spinning the ball back would reliably work or get super close every time.
After the shot (i.e. when its in the air) you can spam A to fill a bar and pull in the direction you want the spin to go. Took me 15-20 tries but its <1 min per try and I'd always get super close, so its just a case of lucking out the direction of your spin so it goes in the hole and not past it.
Many recommend the 1st approach challenge, but I found that much trickier. I got a heartbeat moment after 40+ attempts and I was 1 inch short of the hole.
Notes:
Mulligans do not work. It's okay if they are active, but don't use them. I got this 3rd try after using a Mulligan after my 2nd attempt, thinking I'd earned it, but it didn't work. As soon as I did it with my "legit" shot (e.g. not a mulligan) 15 attempts or so later it popped.
Don't backspin too early once your attempt is in the air Let the shot develop so you can see roughly where it's likely to land versus where you need the back-spin to go. Once you're confident of the angle you need to backspin with (e.g. back and slightly to the left, or hard left, or straight back) then spam A and aim the backspin.

Worked for me, I did it off the tee though and got the ace in the hole achievement at same time!
