This can be earned playing in the Web.com Tour Championship at the start of your pro career.
All you need to do is finish top 20 and you'll be awarded your card.
You don't play all 18 holes over the four days though. You start off playing 3 holes Thursday, 4 holes Friday, 5 holes Saturday and 6 holes on Sunday.
The toughest part for me, being new to golf games, was judging the greens for putts. If you're having trouble with it, make sure you turn on the putting line in the settings menu.
This is not a hard achievement, as the game seems to be pretty lenient based on your skills. (I was also playing on the easiest difficulty setting). For reference when I played, the winner finished with -5, and I finished 7th at +2, 13 spots above the cutoff, so you have a lot of room for error if you're new to golf games.

After creating your character with the very basic customisation options, you will enter a small tournament which, you must finish in the top 50. The tournament is played at TPC Sawgrass.
It is over four rounds but, not the full 18 holes. In each round, you will play 5 or 6 holes with the game simulating your score on the other holes based on how you played the few holes that round. I finished in the top 10 with a few very badly played shots and, TBH, I don't think this can be failed as, it grants you your licence to enter the later career modes competitions.
Also, a point to mention is, not all four rounds need to be played in one go although, it does only take about 30/40 minutes to complete (*depending on how long you spend lining up your shot) is that it saves your progress after each round. You can therefore stop and continue at a later time.

i played this tournament on tour difficulty, and totally goosed it, can i replay it to earn this trophy?

Yes, you should be able to play again. One way for sure you can play again to earn the trophy is to start another golfer. Any new golfer you start/create dosnt take into account any previous ranking of any other character and, starts at the first invitational tournament. You for sure will be able to do again then but, pick an easier play method than tour :-)

This will be the first trophy you will get in career mode. Your first event will be to place in the top 25 of the Web.com Championship at TPC Sawgrass. You will play 4-6 holes each round and try to post the best score. Once you are done and have placed in the top 5 you should earn your card and the trophy.
Note: You can choose to play a full 18 holes a round but from a trophy stand point it is quicker not to.

Once you start career mode the first tournament is where you'll qualify for the PGA tour. You have to win the very first tournament to unlock this achievement.
