How to unlock the Playing For Rank achievement in EA SPORTS Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR - Definitive Guide

From the main menu select the Play tab, then pick Head To Head. Select the Ranked tab and hit Join Session. With a bit of luck you'll join a ranked match. As soon as the match begins the achievement will pop, you don't even have to play a shot. :)

Joining the match caused my Xbox to reset for some reason (black screen for ~20s, then the green boot screen). Still got the achievement though :/

Had a similar issue but no reboot. Black screen for over one minute before I quit the application. No Achievement though.

Very simple to get. Go to online hub and join a ranked session. The trophy will pop before you even tee off so you dont have to even play the round.

From the main menu navigate to Play > Head2Head > Ranked > Join Session. When the game loads the trophy will pop and you can choose to continue or quit the game. You don’t need to actually play the round, or even make a single shot for the trophy to unlock.

From the Play menu go to head to head. You only need to start a ranked match, not actually complete it to unlock the achievement.
