How to unlock the Golf's Magic Number achievement in EA SPORTS Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR - Definitive Guide
There are quite a few ways to go about getting this achievement, but by far the easiest is to load up an 18 round on the Battlefield 4 course "Paracel Storm".
This course only has a par of 54 since it's made up of 18 holes of only par 3s. You could do really bad on the course, going as much as +5 throughout your round and still unlock this achievement. This is also a good way to work on getting that hole in one achievement.
Extremely easy 50 points!

This is definitely the best way to get this achievement, which is why I've deleted my solution. I'd still argue that St Andrews is easier to go bogey-free on though, one errant shot on Paracel Storm can really cause you trouble, whereas St Andrews has a lot of short Par 4 and 5's that are easy to recover from. :)

Great very logical solution and I thank you very much. That being said I've only played that course once and has anyone noticed the "sand" is not sand? I've adjusted flight way up down and a punch through it (obv we all know how to play out of the sand) Any suggestions? Played other courses and the regular sand traps appear to react differently. Even at St. Andrews I almost shot back words with those crazy bunkers and was able to lift it out almost against the lip of the deepest amongst them.

Easiest way is to play the Battlefield Paracel Storm course with Rory. This is a par 3 course (total 54) but still counts for the trophy. Set it for the closest tees, no wind, use Rory or someone else with high ratings. This is also a good set up to aim for hole in ones and play a bogey free round.
To shoot a 59 means to go round a course in 59 shots, this would be 13 under par if the course was a par 72. To do this you would need to birdie 13 holes or better on a course. From the original courses available from the beginning of the game, St. Andrews or Royal Troon is recommended for this. Set the wind to 0 and the tees to Red and you should get this easily. You can also easily unlock this trophy once you have unlocked the Paracel Storm (Battlefield 4) course as the the course is a par 54, so to Shoot 59 or better is quite easy as you can obtain 5 bogeys and still unlock the trophy (thanks to oswald41 for the tip).
This is easiest unlocked on the Paracel Storm course as every hole is a par 3. However you can unlock this on any course you'd like. You'll need to shoot a 59 or lower total strokes.
