The other guides are good. These are additional tips for when things go bad:
1) The pro career is broken up into seasons. If you fail to win an achievement tournament in the initial season, you will have additional chances in a subsequent season.
2) Quick rounds allow you to only play a few holes and still have a fair chance to win a tournament.
3) If winning a tournament is in doubt, consider switching to playing all 18 holes in the 3rd or 4th round.
4) If things are really desperate, you can access the menu, the home tab, and select Pro Career. This will take you back to the main menu and anything that happened during your last round will be lost.

The PGA Championship is the eleventh event in career mode. The tournament is played at Whistling Straits. It is the longest of the championships if you aren’t playing all 18 holes for each round. Below is the structure of how many holes you will play in each round. If at any point you feel you are not going to win, simply quit out of the game and start again. The game will put you back at the end of the last round which you completed. Once you have won the PGA Championship the trophy will unlock.
Round 1 - 4 holes
Round 2 - 5 holes
Round 3 - 6 holes
Round 4 - 9 holes
If you lose this event you will have to play through the first season and then continue through Season 2 until you can play this event again. To increase your chances of winning, we suggest playing the full 18 holes of one of the four rounds to help establish a comfortable lead, and then play the remaining three rounds as quick rounds. You can quit out at any point during the round and this will allow you to restart that round from the beginning.
