How to unlock the Brown Belt achievement in EA SPORTS UFC 2 - Definitive Guide
The easiest way to get this achievement is more straight forward than it seems. When doing ultimate team you will get to a part that says Ultimate Championships screen. Which will put you against online matchmaking. Which is against players who have played a lot longer or bought their way to the top. If you look below Ultimate Championship it says Single Player Championship. That is AI controlled players. It seems this would be easy to determine from the get go but it is easily overlooked. It counts towards those achievos for ranks in ultimate team.
Side note is wins make your rank go up. More coins are added per longer fights but going for the win is important to rank up.
When making a fighter the taller the height the better. (USUALLY) Longer reach to keep your opponent at bay. Keep them at distance and pound away at their head. So keeping at this way against AI is challenging at some times but more fair than playing real people who bought those players who are better.
Any questions or anything feel free to message me I log alot of time and am happy to answer!

This is a rank based achievement.
First, like many past UFC games, the achievements are based off the rank structure of the martial art Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In the case of EA Sports UFC 2, you are awarded belt levels based on your overall rank.
In Jiu-Jitsu, there are five primary belt ranks, White, Blue, Purple, Brown and Black. In real life a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner should receive four white stripes on their belt before promotion. This is important in the game, you will not obtain this achievement until you have earned your fourth stripe on your Purple Belt Rank.
I recommend attempting this achievement by completing fights in multiplayer through the Ultimate Team game mode. The most important thing about leveling up is this: you do not need to win fights to progress...I repeat, you do not need to win fights to progress!
In the Ultimate Team mode in particular, you will earn 20 rank points for a win, and 10 points for a loss. You can also earn points for playing Ultimate Team Single Player (against AI) but the point values will be diminished. Following this method you'll also receive the following two achievements naturally:
