To unlock the UFC 78: Validation trophy in EA SPORTS UFC 3, you will need to progress through the game's career mode until you win a championship belt. This will obviously be easier to do on the lowest difficulty, but you can do it on whichever one you choose, as long as you are able to win fights.

Once you have the championship belt, your next fight will be a title defence. Win that fight and the trophy will unlock.
