How to unlock the Festival Masters achievement in Earthlock: Festival of Magic - Definitive Guide

There are 2 tournaments that are unlocked through story progression.

To obtain a gold medal you must group all enemies together on each round and fight them all in 1 big battle. Whenever possible wait for the enemies to walk close to each other before engaging them and be careful when you have to pull one group to another as it's easy for some enemies to fall behind and mess your whole run up. Slowly zigzagging is a good way to keep agro as it seems enemies can block each other's line of sight if you run straight.

The Zabel tournament is easily done when you first have to do it however the Suvia tournament is much harder and will require close to a level 20 team.

There currently appears to be a bug that counts a single fight as multiple fights, it seems to be random when it occurs but quitting out of the game may fix it temporarily. On the plus side it seems that the final round doesn't count as a battle, I've managed to earn gold with 4 wins.

Got the bug for each fight counting as multiple making gold impossible. Tried reloading a few times to no avail. Finally loaded up a previous save before I attempted the tournament and it worked properly. Would definitely recommend rotating between all the save files to always have a backup as there seems to be a fair amount of bugs in the game atm.

You can do gold on the tournament suvia in 5 min.

First part as guide D4rkTrooper90 (group up all enemies each round to kill them in one go)

Setup party

Level close tot 20
Use the Perk: ' and back again' on your party of 4 (you will unlock the perk "And back again" after defeating the train-like boss on your way to Nadir)
Use PAT with his explosive skill (you will get the explosive skill after defeating one of the story bosses) I don t know which one for sure)
Paired PAT up with Amon, as one of their bonds is 'Big bang (Increases exploding attacks by 20%)' You dont need it i think.

After grouping and in the battle use the explosive skill. Everybody goes down including your team. Because you have the Perk ' and back again' your team revives and you win the round. Do this for all 5 rounds to win the gold. I did it in 5 min. very easy.

Where do you learn the explosive skill? I can't seem to figure out what you mean by it.

It s on the talentboard of Pat. You get it when leveling up and fill your talentboard. I am not sure on which level it is possible to chose. After unlocking you must set it on the A B Y X button.

If I remember correctly you will get the explosive skill after defeating one of the story bosses, could be the Guardian in the Tower of Dhur although I'm not really sure ^^
Furthermore, you will unlock the perk "And back again" after defeating the train-like boss on your way to Nadir if anyone is interested :)
But this method is pretty awesome for quickly leveling up your party!

Something important to note is that you should have PAT paired up with Amon, as one of their bonds is 'Big bang (Increases exploding attacks by 20%)'.

The video shows you getting silver.

I have had nothing but problems with this, the whole things bugged for me, sometimes after grouping them on the first round my counter can go up to as much as 4. Iv tried working out why the counter does what it does but nothing.

Hey everyone, in this video I'm showing you how to get this achievement. For this to unlock all you need to do is get gold in both tournaments in the game. They are story based, and only the second one is a bit tough. I would recommend being level 16-17 for getting gold on that one. In order to get gold you need to group up all of the monsters that show up for that round in one battle. I just show you how to group them up in each round, not the actual fight since that's up to your play style. Hope the video helps, and sorry for sounding diseased because I am. Thanks for watching!

This trophy is for completing all Tournaments with Gold Ranking. There are only two Tournaments in the game, however, you cannot enter them until you progressed further in the storyline. Once PAT joins the party which is the trophy for unlocking Ancient Sentient Support , all Tournaments will be opened. The first Tournament is in Zaber and the second Tournament is in Suvia. Zaber obviously needs to be completed first before you can do the one in Suvia. This means you need to get Gold Ranking in Zaber and finally earn the Gold Ranking in Suvia which would, in turn, unlock the trophy.

Tournaments come with rules though since you need to complete them in the fewest amount of battles possible. There are 5 rounds that you must complete in order to get the Gold Ranking. If you go over the 5 rounds, you'll lose the Gold Ranking and will fall into the Silver Ranking. To avoid this, you need to gather the enemies in the Tournament arena around you then proceed to fight them all at once. Once you've defeated all enemies in a round, interact with the center to go into the next round. Repeat the gathering of all enemies again until you complete all 5 rounds like this.

Zaber's Tournament should be the easiest one for you to do, but it's recommended that your levels 14-16 at least. Suvia can be tricky as an enemy might not be in the battle once you won, making you waste a round. Sadly, there's no way to leave these Tournaments once they're started as the only way out is to win. While you're doing these, it's recommended that you farm some levels and max out all Bonds between characters.

Below are some tips on how getting Gold Ranking:

  • Gather large groups of enemies at once for one huge battle against them all. Be sure to press in order to gain the First Strike in combat. This enables your party the first turn in the battle queue regardless of character's Speed Stats.
  • Save your Special Bond abilities for the later rounds or the larger group of enemies.
  • Use these Tournaments to fully level up all Bonds between all characters and get XP while doing it.

The tournaments in the game are available shortly after unlocking the "Sentient Support" achievement, as part of the story. There are only two of them, one in Zaber and one in Suvia. You will need to complete the one in Zaber first, as this rewards you with a token that allows you to participate in Suvia. To get a Gold ranking you will need to complete the tournament in the fewest amount of battles possible. There are five rounds to get through, and a Gold requires that you only fight five battles. So you'll need to round up every enemy that spawns and take them on at once.

The Zaber tournament is no problem. I was Level 14 at this time and got Gold on my first attempt. Suvia is another matter entirely. I'm not sure why, but the enemies in the second half of the game are much tougher than the first half. You can complete the tournament with any ranking to move the story (don't group the enemies all together), then simply return later when you've leveled up a bit to try again for Gold.

Make sure your super abilities are charged and you switch stances between battles depending on what types of enemies you're facing. Once you get Gnart's whirlwind super ability, you can wipe out the first wave in one shot and it should be charged back up by the fourth wave to do the same to them.
