How to unlock the Thoroughly tempered achievement in Eastern Exorcist - Definitive Guide
This unlocks by playing as the female character and choosing Level Up at the various shrines until she hits 30. I I was able to get this after the blood demon story achievement, while spending a lot on skill upgrades so it’s possible to get this sooner if you ignore the skills.
This unlocks by playing as the male character and choosing Level Up at the various shrines until he hits 30. Focusing on level up rather than skills will make this pop sooner.

This seems to be bugged for me. Have reached 30, completed main story and hasn't popped. There are a few of the boss fight ones that haven't popped too.
Have tried deleting local save data, resetting console etc.
Anyone else had the same?

Bummer! I didn’t have any issues in this game with achievements. Both male and female Level 30 cheevos popped fine. I played on a mix of PC and Series X. I don’t use Quick Resume as issues with achievement popping seem common with that.

You need around 365,000 soul energy to reach level 30 (the max)
Should come pretty naturally if you're leveling up as often as you can (and you'll still have plenty for skills. I had most of them by the end)
Both this achievement and the one of the same name for maxing out Lu can be earned in New Game+. What this means is you can get the achievement for beating the game at Level 1, then earn the level-up achievement in New Game+ with all the souls you should have leftover (I had 474k, more than enough). Much faster than a true 3rd playthrough
