How to unlock the Another Story achievement in Eastward - Definitive Guide
The goal of playing Earth Born is to level up as much as possible before the 7th night when you are forced to fight the Demon King. Your basic progress through the world is carried over with each new playthrough so you will want to activate all of the fast travel waypoints and find all additional characters to join your party in your first couple runs. You can do this early in the Eastward game, but you likely won't be able to defeat the Demon King until around Chapter 4 or 5. By that point you will have had the opportunity to collect enough Pixballs to get what you need in Earth Born. The items you receive from Pixballs will reset with each new run, so use them as needed to help in each playthrough.
Here is how I defeated the Demon King.
First off, collect a lot of Pixballs. The items gained from them are very helpful. The shop refresh and coupon items can be used to get the best items in the shop and for a discount. The main items I used were Dragon Rage, Toxin, Lucky Coat and Magic Echo. Dragon Rage will deal damage to all enemies, which is super helpful in clearing the caves/dungeons, making leveling up go faster. Toxin adds poison effect to attacks. Lucky Coat minimizes damage received. Magic Echo gives skills a chance to be cast twice in one turn. I would also suggest making sure the Knight has the counter ability (passive skill called Eye for an Eye, check Status->Skill to see if he has it). To get the Knight with counter, just restart a new game until you have it. You should also purchase an "Expert" weapon for one party member. One was all I could afford, but it helped deal extra damage in the final battle.
My party was Knight, Monk, and Mage as the main 3 with Priest and Merchant as backup. By the final battle my Knight was equipped with Toxin and Lucky Coat, Monk equipped with Dragon Rage and Expert Gloves, and Mage equipped with Magic Echo and Wisdom Amulet. Some of those items will take a few days to get, but will be accessible before you face the Demon King.
With 3-4 magic keys (Mad Rat Pixball item) you will be able to level up to Level 6 before the 7th night. Focus on only battling the path-blocking enemies (look like black blobs with eyes when you walk up to them) that have two waves of enemies in the battle, and caves/dungeons. Those battles will give you maximum EXP and can also help acquire some good equipment to use against the Demon King. You will want to have a couple Miracle Scales (Googly Bat Pixball item) to revive any fallen party members immediately in battle so they don't miss out on the EXP. If you find the Earth Goddess Statue, you can donate money to boost stats (travel to center easternmost waypoint, go east, then north to find the statue). I spent 150 gold and boosted CRIT and wisdom.
When fighting the Demon King, I used normal attack with the Knight, or Recover Strike when I had enough AP. With the Monk I used Frenzy Fist or normal attack. With the Mage I would use Meditate to gain AP, and Heat Laser when able - if the Magic Echo works when using Heat Laser it will deal almost 500 damage to the Demon King, so super helpful. My winning turn ending up with my Monk dying, but the Mage got out a final Heat Laser (two turns with this attack, landing 3 times with Magic Echo) to take out the Demon King.
If you are looking to follow this exactly, it may take a few tries to get your characters with the right skills since those are random each run. If you wish to build your own strategy, I suggest checking out this Earth Born wiki - https://eastwardwiki.com/Earth_Born. It describes all items and character abilities and has a full world map.
Good luck!

...I accidentally did this on Chapter 1 with my party at Level 5 :S I didn't realise it was a good idea to acquire more of the balls, but hey, at least it's out the way x3

So first off I'm going to let you know that the most op items to equip at the start of a run is the dragon rage (attacks all enemies on successful hit, dealing damage to all for the same amount) and the rage belt (uses 1 ap for normal attacks but guaranteed critical hit). Wipes out groups of enemies so easily, however it's not so useful against boss enemies because there is only one to attack so it's more effective to equip other items.
In order to easily acquire both items you need to buy pixballs in the actual game which gives you certain things based on what you monsters you get. You want to acquire as many shop refreshes and shop coupons to find and discount the two items mentioned above. The coupon cuts prices in half and you start with 50g and each item is 50g each without the coupon, so technically you only need 2 coupons to make sure you can buy both items at the start as long as you're lucky with the shop refreshes, refreshing the shop after using the coupon gets rid of the coupon effect which is why you need at least two. All pixballs are pretty useful so get as many as you can.
Pretty much that's it, the rest you just have to playthrough, unlocking fast travels keeps them unlocked when you start a new game, same with all allies you find. You obviously want to level up as fast as possible because you're on a time limit, but don't worry about it running out because you will just be forced to confront the demon Lord after visiting the tavern one last time, so you best be prepared.
Learn what items are good, where to find the low level strong enemies (shadow looking enemies around the map) for quick XP and caves around the map which have harder enemies but more XP and loot. You'll also need magic keys from Ratman pixballs if you want to unlock the higher level caves. The rest is just trial and error unfortunately
