After finishing in the Mines, you'll need to fix John's Pan by going to Sunnyside Ranch and talking to Mason the Fixer.
After completing the mini tutorial for a charge attack, Mason will give you some Sandrupes. Go back to John's house (either manually or by Fast Travel) and follow the tutorial for cooking a dish.
This will unlock after playing the slot machine mini-game and after the cooking fanfare has finished.
