The earliest you can get the AK-47, is the second level, after you meet Kitty. You will be ambushed by Russian soldiers, most who drop the AK-47.
Pick it up, and start killing them. You should be able to get this achievement by level 5. Since there is an AK-47 (plus ammo drops from enemies) in levels 3 and 4 as well..
