How to unlock the Sonar Free achievement in Ecco the Dolphin - Definitive Guide

The Death Sonar is given to Ecco as a reward for saving the lost dolphin family in The Vents level, so firstly don't help them.

Now you have to get all the way to Dark Water which is the 21st level of the game, 22nd if you include the starting area as a level.

The hardest part of this challenge for me was getting past the seahorse in Trilobite Circle, until I realized that you can swim either under or over him when he floats up and down. This should save some stress!

I played through this crap game and really kept my calm. I had to reload a lot especially in the later levels. Now I have to do a second full playthrough without the Death Sonar to get the last 2 achievements... Are you kidding me? angry

At least I never owned this piece of shit in my Mega Drive days... Would have ruined my childhood memories laugh

On The Vents level DO NOT save the dolphin's 3 pod members, then make it to the Dark Water level and the achievement will unlock.
