You won't be able to come back once you enter it, do everything that still need to be done regarding the collectibles and missing achievements
Once you bring back the :
- CPU (found in the FST laboratory, behind the two big spider robot, there is a door which is not very obvious)
and the
- flight coordinate (found in the second Alien ship)
In the garage (hometown) where the portal is being constructed you will be able to enter it and get your achievement

I'm still missing 1 blaster and 1 knife comic. Do I need to keep searching or are they after the portal?

i heard going thru the portal is the point of no return (from a clickbaity watch time junkie youtuber) is that true? or can i go back and forth thru the portal over and over again
