How to unlock the World Protector achievement in Edge Of Eternity - Definitive Guide

These events appear at the various tabernacles starting in Chapter 1, and they use a purple marker on your compass line and mini-map to let you know an event is available, and a purple guide arrow also in the compass line and mini-map when you’ve accepted one. They are like mini-quests, and they’re pretty easy (collect flowers in a certain amount of time, kill a monster to retrieve a lost item, locate a stuffed toy, pay to listen to a story - you get the idea). When you accept one, the word ‘Event’ will pop up on your screen, but these events will not appear in your quest list. Once you’ve finished one event, if you wait a few seconds, another event will show up, so you can complete several in a row at a time. For me, the events seemed to start at the in-game night, and I was able to complete 3-4 at a time (I decided to test how many I could do, and I was on my 7th one in a row when the achievement popped), but I have no idea how many it’s possible to do in a row. I also noticed that when I started a set of events, they kept going until I died or left the area. When that happened, I had to wait until the next in-game night for the events to start showing up again.

One more tip: if you are near a tabernacle in the daytime, talk to the people there. They won’t give you any events to do, but you should come across a master apothecarist and a trainee. They’ll talk about the master leaving, and the trainee will have to take over. The trainee gets all worked up, but the master tells the trainee that as long as the trainee remembers what each of 3 different herbs do, the trainee will be fine, and if the trainee gets stuck, the trainee can ask Selene for help. The master will then go over the 3 herbs, and you should write down somewhere what each herb does as you will need that information for some of the events. This conversation was the only time I came across for which you needed to get the information for the event ahead of time. If you don’t get it from the master and trainee, you’ll have to guess.

I do not know what happens if you fail an event. I suspect it just won’t count as one of the 20 needed for the achievement. If you say no to one of the events, that event will be skipped, and won’t be available again until the next night in the game. I only chose no once (for the hidden chest event), so it is possible something else might happen with other quests, should you choose to say no.

Hope this helps smile

No, you should be able just to walk up to it and get the trigger (sorry, it’s been quite a while since I played).

Thanks. It seems it was glitching on me. Rebooting fixed it.

Also, as of Sept 29 2022, you can get this even if you pick the wrong choice for the 'sick man/woman' events. You just don't get the quest reward, but it still counts towards the achievement.

World Events are mini-quests that can show up on the world map, usually at one of the game's shrine locations. These will show a purple diamond on your mini-map/HUD and usually only take a minute or two to complete. Generally you'll just be finding a lost item, killing a weak enemy, or could be as simple as donating some money to a storyteller. Do these whenever they pop up to complete this achievement as you explore, then ignore them forever - the rewards are terrible and they will tend to be a waste of time.
