Just so say you don't have to press X and A at the same time. As I was doing this by myself with two controllers I found that very awkward to do. However if you set the players up in the positions set out in the guide, you just need to have the A button held down on the second controller before you shoot. This was far easier to me than pressing both at the same time.

How far apart do they have to be standing? I’ve tried a few different distances and he misses when he goes to block it… it just goes straight past him.

Followed the guide but i had to play on superstar difficulty. not sure if it actually made a difference

Another note to add is that your controlled player must block the shot. I've had a few shots that were blocked by AI and they didn't count

Weak shots are actually kinda bad for this as more often than not the ball will easily get past the defender. Tried weak shots for 3 matches, couldn't get the achievement. If you hit the ball a little bit harder the defender is much more likely to block the ball, once I realized this I unlocked the achievement by the 27th minute.

Best advice I could pass along is when you have your defenders lined up, hold A with whoever will be blocking and tap X with whoever is shooting. Did it on my first try.

What worked for me is to have my P1-player stand someone on the line if the box, then hold . Meanwhile move towards this player with your second controller and press when you are walking straight to P1 from about 5 meters (?) distance. Don't shoot too slow!

Took me about 30 minutes ingame on my first try. And yes, I have three hands (doing this by myself took a few moments figuring out how to manage to do this, the best thing is to simply have a wife to help you out)

Just to update this; you cannot hold A anymore, must manually time the A button press to block the shot.

This is BS, I'm blocking loads of shots with the player that's selected and it's just not unlocking, really irritating,

How do you prevent the AI pressuring the player on the ball when trying to set this up? They are really aggressive.

Com dois controles use o primeiro (principal) pra fazer faltas próximas a área. Selecione o jogador desejado com R3 e posicione ele ao lado da barreira. Vá para o segundo controle e mire a cobrança o mais perto do jogador de foi posicionado. Aperte o X pra bater a falta e A pra barrar a falta. Os comandos precisam ser simultâneos. Caso tenham alguém pra ajudar a fazer fica mais fácil. Só nessa conquista levei mais de uma hora.

Obs: Jogo horrível.

After the update, this achievement seems a lit bit annoying to do by yourself, the second controller keeps auto-tackling your players, so, if you want to do it together, add me RafaJack90.

This is the method I used, seemed to work better, and I did it by myself. IDK if there have been updates etc that make the AI more aggressive/annoying but the free kicks worked for me on my second or third try in the 88th minute. I had previously tried having an actual person on the second controller helping me set it up by just taking regular shots. But trying to get into the middle of the field caused the AI to get in the damn way and taking shots from near the bottom of the field we were left alone but it was hard to get the angle right, we kept being too far to one end even though it looked right.

I also tried playing against the AI on super hard but I am not a soccer player at all so I just got my ass kicked or they kept lobbing the ball across the middle and taking headers. I had tried to kick the ball out of bounds immediately so the AI would get it and take shots but I guess Im not good enough to defend/kicking it out of bounds like that set up headers. Kicking it away down the middle of the field would waste too much time or pass it to my player which also wasted time.

For the actual free kicks I lined up the second controller aiming at the first controller (going for the achievement) player. Once I felt I had it lined up the first controller mashed A like no tomorrow, second controller gave just the slightest tap to X to shoot. It *should* count as long as your player puts his foot out or blocks with the back etc. I goofed on two attempts, one the ball went past everyone and the second time was a penalty kick as I was too close to the goal with the foul.
