You can get this while going for BAL achievements (Become a Legend).
You can configure the games with the duration that you consider and difficulty beginner; the important thing is to make assists.
It is not necessary to end the season.
Do not skip any match despite being different competitions, it keeps counting towards the achievement.

The match data you simulate does not count toward the achievement.

Is it possible to unlock it in Masters League?

No, because you play with the full team. In BAL you only play with a character managing to give passes to the AI that become assists

I think this counts across different game methods. I only had 15 assists in BAL when the achievement unlocked, but had played a season in master league.
The game is quite stingy with how it classifies assists, you have to pass quite close to the goal.

I can confirm that it DOES NOT have to be done in Become a Legend game mode. It popped for me few matches after the 100 goals achievement in Master League.

I’m surprised I haven’t got this yet then, as I’ve already finished with Master League. Oh well, onto BAL I go.

To be fair, the guide says you can get it in BAL not that you have to.

You can, but you can get it in any game modes.
