How to unlock the Card Game Champ achievement in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes - Definitive Guide

I got sick of having to juggle lots of tabs on my phone and struggling to keep track of the ridiculous amount of collectables in this game, while also discovering that some sources had a lot of missing, incomplete, hard to read and in some cases wrong information.

So I decided to do the reasonable thing and combine everything into a spreadsheet for all achievement-related collectables in this game. As always, this will be view only, so make a copy to your OneDrive and edit to your hearts content. I built the sheet for myself and will use this pretty exclusively to achieve 1000G - so if something is missing in there {and I don't have the achievement yet} please let me know. I will also be adding my own notes if I feel the information isn't enough.

The only one you will want to keep track of during your playthrough is the Recruits, as they'll help you for various things throughout the story, and having all recruits branches out into the other achievements (Card battles, Runes etc).

Once I've 1000G'd the game I'll edit this guide so that it's known that no further edits are planned.

If something isn't in this sheet, then it's because it either has a not-so-awkward check-list in game (Card Battles, Chests) and I felt that I didn't need it in the sheet, or it does not need a complete set to do and can just b done quickly (Hero Combos), or because I simply didn't know about it :)

As far as I know there are no missable collectables. It is recommended not to specifically go after most of these until you're far, far into the game, as a lot of the items can be picked up 'accidentally'. Additionally, some items I set the "Obtained" value to "HOLD" - these ones are technically possible to obtain fairly early in the game, but is strongly recommended to come back to it much later for various reasons (such as the recruit Dr Corque). For these I put an elaboration in the notes column.

Let me know if you have further suggestions. Otherwise, enjoy!

Achievement Specific Notes
- You can view your collected cards by visiting the stand in the 1st Floor of the Trade Center at HQ > View Cards. In the spreadsheet, the Card number is the place they are on the grid on this screen.

- When buying a card pack, if a received card is for a Hero you haven't met/recruited yet, you'll get a description instead (eg: "Fiery Spirit"). Search for a matching Power Up instead (Hearts - Power +9 when set if opponent's VP is higher than yours)

- Without getting too spoilery, If you don't get the "Recruit all characters" achievement, then you'll need a fresh play through. One character, Aleior, is missable on the mission "To Norristar, the Western Nation". One character only gets recruited if you have all other characters, and if you don't have that character, another will disappear due to story reasons. I have clearly marked this character in my spreadsheet.

- Some cards can only be obtained by beating 10 characters of the same rank.

- Beaten opponents have a crown on the bottom right of their character icon. You can also sort the list by "No Wins" to group the beaten opponents together by clicking the Left Stick.

-This achievement is a slog. There's no fast way of doing it. You'll be spending between 6-10 hours on this if you do it in one go. I recommend picking at this gradually the moment you have ~80% of your No Skill cards on your deck replaced, doing 5 or so battles each time you visit HQ, starting with C Rank characters. One of the recruits needs beating at this, and they're A Rank, so having a decent deck and being familiar with the game by that point is highly recommended.

- For the most part you'll be largely aiming for the same sort of packs on the board. Once I had a complete card set I was largely setting 999 888 111. Or something similar. Maybe some 987's instead. You'll need to decide for yourself based on the cards received and your deck setup.

The card game in this is fairly simple. There are three sections you can place cards, and the higher total of the cards on each side wins. Hero cards will generally have some unique skills that increase their power if you fill a section with a specific type of cards (all evens, all odds, all different colors, etc). Try to make sure you aim for those combos. Some cards also have abilities to add crowns to the pot, which is what ultimately determines who wins the match. Each "lane" is worth 1-3 crowns on their own, so play your best cards in the 3-Crown lane, but also use your Hero cards to add crowns to lanes you know you'll for sure win. The crowns are separate on each side of the board, so if you add a bunch of crowns and lose a lane, it doesn't give the crowns to your opponent, so there's little risk in going for more.

It's not a very confusing game once you play a few matches. You'll need to have recruited every hero in the game to get this achievement, and it may be less tedious if you defeat a few of the lower-tier heroes each time you return to town. Be sure to start buying some of the card packs once you unlock them to get new and more powerful Hero cards, and update your deck when you do. The video below has matches against all the toughest opponents if you need some strategy tips.

The worst part about this achievement is the time it takes. Every match is about 3-4 minutes each, and there are I believe 126 opponents to beat, so it's just an absolute slog of 8-10 hours.

This isn't really guide but more of a piece of advice wait till endgame it's very boring and if you're anything like me you have enough money to buy all the cards from packs. Also as for getting all the cards you will be missing 4 until you get a certain amount of wins.

The best strategy I can give is work around what your opponent will play so say he plays no effect cards it'll be an easy win when other times your hands will be bad can't help it.

You can do it though just super time consuming like 3 mins a match.

We collect all the heroes, pump the shop to the limit. We buy packs of cards to collect 156 cards, since the 4 remaining ones will fall out as rewards for the card battles themselves (four sevens of max legend).
With the best cards, even S ranks are easy to beat on the first try, but you need to beat all 120 heroes.
The tactics are simple - it is advisable to put all 8 in the field with 3 crowns (9 there too, if there are no 8s), then what is better in the field with two crowns, the rest in one.
From rank B and below, you can generally put 8-9 in a field with three crowns, and in other fields just click X, since the enemies will not be able to beat you in points in any way.

This whole hell took me about 10 hours without any defeats. Brace yourself and stock up on TV series with YouTube in the background.
