You can do this right at the beginning of the game, follow the quest marker for a bit and you'll see a cat near the stairs, just interact with him 10 times.

I came across ganmo the hamster, I think, right after the two boys playing a spinning top game. Just before getting to the cat. Same thing, talked ten times and bam, cheevo.
