How to unlock the The Hero Who Fished the World achievement in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes - Definitive Guide

Note: If you catch a particular fish that I don't have listed at one of the locations, please comment to let me know and I'll add it. Thank you!

To start fishing, you'll need to wait until after the events with Mellore in Eltisweiss then travel back to Arenside (first town of the game) and speak to a man (Huang) in the SW corner of the town to get the Bamboo Rod.
To fish you just enter a fishing spot then tap A once a fish bites. It randomly nibbles 1-3 times, registering a bite on one of those nibbles.

There are 52 unique fish you must catch for this acheivement.
You can check which ones you have left to catch by building then visiting the Library in your HQ and looking at the Fish Guide when talking to Mariette.
Consult this guide to see all fish in the list order:
https://www.neoseeker.com/eiyuden-chronicle-hundred-heroes/A...

I have them listed with their "Rarity" number on the left.
Rarity indicates 3 things: the size of the fish in the water, how often it appears, and how hard it is to catch.
Fish with rarity 1 are very small, very common, and very easy to catch. 5's are the opposite.

- You can begin working on this from the beginning of the game but there's no real reason to. (you can't even catch rarity 5 fish w/o upgrades)
- Your base will have upgrades that make fishing MUCH easier and will also unlock 5 unique fishing spots all right next to each other that allow you to catch almost all the fish in the game.
- To get the upgrades you'll need to recruit Huang in Hishahn.

Fishing tips:
- If you are only aiming for the rarer fish after catching most of the smaller ones, just let the smaller fish get away instead of catching them and others will replace them, getting you more chances for a rare to appear.
- Some of the fishing spots have choppy water or are sand/icy/etc that make it hard for your eyes to track the fish/bobber. I used headphones and closed my eyes, listening for the "splash" sound that indicates the bobber going under. It was much easier to use my ears than my eyes.

Maybe 5 minutes real time. Not long. If you're fishing the 5 spots at the base, after clearing 3-4 of them, the first one you fished will already be replenished.

Ah, fishing, what RPG would be complete without it? You will receive your first fishing pole from an old man in the starting town. You can begin catching fish at any of the locations in the game, but some of the harder fish to catch will require upgrades through the town-building system (again, see Town-Building Hero (40G) for more info on that mechanic). You can even build fishing spots in the town which will have nearly every fish in the game available to you, though there are a handful exclusive to spots out in the world. See the checklist linked in the Road Map for what specific locations you may need to visit.

To actually catch a fish, simply begin the mini-game and you will cast automatically, and then simply press button-a.png when the bobber goes underwater. Fish will nip at the line and could pull it under on the first, second, or third bite, so pay close attention to when it full submerges. Because of waves and light reflections, it can sometimes be hard to see. The video below has all of the locations we'll need for this achievement.

I got sick of having to juggle lots of tabs on my phone and struggling to keep track of the ridiculous amount of collectables in this game, while also discovering that some sources had a lot of missing, incomplete, hard to read and in some cases wrong information.

So I decided to do the reasonable thing and combine everything into a spreadsheet for all achievement-related collectables in this game. As always, this will be view only, so make a copy to your OneDrive and edit to your hearts content. I built the sheet for myself and will use this pretty exclusively to achieve 1000G - so if something is missing in there {and I don't have the achievement yet} please let me know. I will also be adding my own notes if I feel the information isn't enough.

The only one you will want to keep track of during your playthrough is the Recruits, as they'll help you for various things throughout the story, and having all recruits branches out into the other achievements (Card battles, Runes etc).

Once I've 1000G'd the game I'll edit this guide so that it's known that no further edits are planned.

If something isn't in this sheet, then it's because it either has a not-so-awkward check-list in game (Card Battles, Chests) and I felt that I didn't need it in the sheet, or it does not need a complete set to do and can just b done quickly (Hero Combos), or because I simply didn't know about it :)

As far as I know there are no missable collectables. It is recommended not to specifically go after most of these until you're far, far into the game, as a lot of the items can be picked up 'accidentally'. Additionally, some items I set the "Obtained" value to "HOLD" - these ones are technically possible to obtain fairly early in the game, but is strongly recommended to come back to it much later for various reasons (such as the recruit Dr Corque). For these I put an elaboration in the notes column.

Let me know if you have further suggestions. Otherwise, enjoy!
